Brief description of the position
IOM/MIDA is seeking a qualified Somali diaspora candidate to help developing the water quality monitoring system in Puntland, build the capacity of the local staff within the PSAWEN and develop systems for monitoring water quality, including advice on standard operational procedures of monitoring and water quality testing.
The expert will also provide technical support to government and non-government organizations at the national and regional levels in the planning, development and implementation stages of water quality monitoring and water laboratory.
The MIDA participant will be based in Garowe and will report to the Director of PSAWEN.
Target outputs:
- Strategic guidance and technical advice on water quality monitoring and water laboratory
- Establishing water testing laboratory and regular water quality monitoring at national/regional/district level
- Training program and skill transfer based on identified needs
- Water quality surveillance system and procedure guideline
- Regular health and sanitary inspection around water sources and checking of water quality in Somaliland and surrounding areas
- Report of the training conducted and documents produced.
