KCSEED foundation is a community owned foundation based at Keringet Location of Kuresoi District in Kenya.
Keringet Community Social Economic and Environmental Development Programme is an initiative of the KCSEED foundation modeled on Global Management Approach (GMA) where community members start by mapping the available resources and asking themselves what they can do to effectively and efficiently use the resources for community member’s health and prosperity.
The programme is funded by Gorta. The overall aim of this programme (achievable in 5 years) is a healthy community which is socially, economically and culturally developed, living in harmony with their environment.

Main Purpose of Role: To supervise all construction activities taking place at KCSEED programme site.

Duties and responsibilities;
- To Interpret Architectural, structural, mechanical drawings
- To develop design, and work programs for all construction under KCSEED
- To Interpret, implement and reinforce regulatory requirements related to safety and environmental standards in all construction sites and as per the OSHA guidelines
- To carry out on-site assessment prior to commencing work to ensure that the job is ready, and addressing any concerns
- To Coordinate and supervise all KCSEED construction activities
- To overseeing the execution of the work, including quality and production, ensuring that the crew works to job specifications and follows the plans
- To make detailed periodical (weekly, monthly and quarterly) reports on all construction work.
- To update KCSEED management on the quantities of materials used on every stage of construction
- To Coordinating the inspection of works in collaboration with the Lead Consultant and the District Public Works Officer
- To prepare the interim payment certificates and completion certificates for the construction
- To take measurements and samples on site to make sure that the work and the materials meet the specifications and quality standards
- To monitor the construction activities against a progress chart(Approved work programme) and reporting of timelines of the activities
- To Prepare and monitor the execution of daily, weekly and monthly work plan in collaboration with the contractors
- To collaborate with KCSEED stores clerk in managing the procurement, storage and issuance of construction materials from store to construction sites and monitoring the usage of the materials by contractors
- To prepare drawings, bill of quantities and tender documents for new constructions works and contractual documents.
- To organize and attend various site meetings between contractors, construction committee and consultants and submit written progress reports and meeting minutes.

Qualifications and work experience:

- Diploma in Building and Construction, Building Technology, Civil Engineering or Construction Management from a recognized training institute.
- Minimum 3 years with a broad based background in construction industry, at least 2 years of which was mandatory site work
- Certificate in Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) would be an added advantage.
- Membership to the Institute of Clerks of Works of Kenya will be added advantage.
- Knowledge of Quantity Surveying would be an added advantage.
- Very strong IT skills required with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office/Excel and email
- Must possess knowledge of Auto CAD and Arch CAD
- Have a wide understanding of the building industry, including knowledge of materials, trades, methods and legal requirements
