Expression of Interest (EOI)
Mapping and Profiling of County Tourism Sites and Services
The County Government of Nakuru, established by the Constitution of Kenya 2010, article 176 is planning to undertake mapping and profiling of tourism resources in the County in order to develop policies and strategies for effective development and promotion of the attractions.
We are inviting qualified interested consultants to submit expression of interest (EOI).
The consultancy shall be responsible for the following aspects:-
- Identify, document and profile all tourism products and services in the county.
- Determine market readiness of these products and strategies for value enhancement.
- Evaluate County hospitality services and tour operations for standardization and regulations.
- Undertake the GIS mapping of County tourism products.
- Development of a tourism guide for Nakuru County.
The EOI responses shall include the following details as part of the statement for qualifications:-
- Undertaking of the assignment
- Experience of similar undertakings in the past
- Consultancy’s human resources base and their specializations and qualifications.
- Engagements with local partners and stakeholders
- Knowledge of GIS Mapping.
- Financial capabilities and commitments to carry out the task.
The EOI documents must be accompanied by copies of the following:-
- Company profile
- Certificate of business incorporation
- Valid Tax Compliance Certificate
- List of at least 3 similar projects undertaken by the firm.
- Least of at least 5 references from organizations your firm has offered similar services.
Interested consultants must submit an original and two copies of the EOI with all the necessary documentation in a plain sealed envelope clearly labeled ‘EXPRESSION OF INTEREST – TOURISM MAPPING AND PROFILING’ along with a covering letter duly signed by an authorized signatory so as to reach undersigned on or before 30th April, 2014.
The documents should be with full description of the EOI deposited in the tender box situated at the County Headquarters entrance and addressed as shown below.

The EOI shall be opened soon thereafter at the County Office Boardroom located on 1st Floor at the County Headquarters in the presence of bidders or representatives who choose to attend. The EOI will be evaluated and qualifying firms issued with Request for Proposals (RFPs).
