Naivasha Water Projects Engineer Job in Kenya

Naivasha Water, Sewerage and Sanitation Company (NAIVAWASS) is a water service provider based in Naivasha town that has been mandated by Rift Valley Water Service Board and the County Government of Nakuru to provide water and sanitation services to the residents of Naivasha and its environs. 

In order to improve services, it is currently getting support from Vitens Evides International and SNV in form of funding from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands.

As part of this support, VEI and SNV are in the process of supporting NAIVAWASS to recruit for the following vacant position:

Projects Engineer
 

Employment Terms: Two years renewable contract based on performance.
 

NAIVAWASS Salary Scale: NWC 4
 

Reports to: Technical Manager
 

Duties and responsibilities:

• Project planning and design
• Proposal writing for resource mobilization
• Identifying areas of expansion
• Make follow up with possible financiers
• Maintain projects schedule by monitoring progress, coordinating activities and solving problems
• Review design specifications, plans and recommends any possible changes
• Control project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts
• Make technical evaluations and preparing cost estimates
• Determine projects schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements and sequencing projects elements

Job Specifications/Qualifications:

• Degree in Civil Engineering / Water Engineering or related field
• Certificate in Project Management
• Certificate in Auto CAD/Arch CAD
• Knowledge of GIS is an added advantage

Experience and Skills:

• At least three years’ experience in project management
• Demonstrated computer skills
• Ability to work within budgets and timelines
• Good reporting and communication skills

Other requirements

• Certificate of Good Conduct
• Letter of Clearance from HELB (Higher Education Loans Board)
• Certificate of Clearance from Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission
• Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from KRA.

The position will be based at NAIVAWASS, and will be incorporated within the company’s organizational structure.  

A competitive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities will be negotiated with the right candidates.
