Our client, a global firm specializing in risk consultancy, is looking to hire a Senior Consultant for its East African Region under theBusiness Intelligence and Corporate Investigations department.

Job Purpose
 

Based in Nairobi and Reporting to the Associate Director, the Senior Consultant will:

• Work within the Africa regional hub model to represent the company in Kenya, primarily, and in the wider East Africa region – Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan.
• Corporate Investigations: Provide investigative and professional consultancy services to clients, project-managing and executing due diligence, business intelligence and complex investigation cases in East Africa. The focus will be on assisting clients identify and manage integrity issues, anti-fraud and corruption and good corporate governance.
• Business Development: Promote the company’s strategy for the growth of key clients in East Africa. Developing and building new and existing client relationships, facilitating, where appropriate, the introduction and provision of additional company services

Key Responsibilities:
 

Corporate Investigations and Business Intelligence:Execution of Corporate Investigations and Business Intelligence based consultancy projects. 

The main focus will be to:

• Manage consulting cases primarily in Kenya and the East Africa region.
• Act as the full case manager for complex projects, responsible for the project cycle in its entirety, in collaboration with Associate Director in London.
• Project management of work done by researchers or junior team members for simple or research-only projects.
• Co-ordinate large cases, involving other departments, offices or practice areas across the region.
• Respond to a broad range of client requests and write and co-ordinate proposals across the region.
• Provide peer-review and quality control.

Business Development: Implementation of the business development strategy for East Africa with specific oversight of implementing Corporate Investigations and Business Development strategy in the region. 

The main focus will be to:

• Successfully create relationships with clients in order to position the company within decision makers.
• Conduct frequent and planned meetings with clients within area of responsibility. These meetings/communications will be planned, structured and auditable.
• Actively participate within the company’s Kenya marketing and networking events.
• Prepare a quarterly business update with the support of the Associate Director.
• Maintain and develop new or enhanced sources, resources, subcontractors.

Requirements
 

Knowledge and Experience
 

Essential

• Bachelor’s Degree with a focus on business, politics, law or equivalent.
• MBA with a specialization on either Project Management/Strategic Management.
• 5 years’ experience of operating in a commercial environment with both with a local and multinational focus. This is either as a consultant or business analyst.
• Demonstrable commercial and political understanding of the East African Region.
• Time spent living and working in the Kenyan business market.
• Experience of operating in a client-facing role.
• Excellent ability to write clearly in English.
• Strong network of contacts within the East African Region.

Preferred

• Experience of operating as a Consultant in the field of Corporate Investigations and Business Intelligence
• Experience managing complex projects or initiatives

Training: Under the guidance of the Associate Director, The Senior Consultant will receive 3 to 6 months company orientation in the London Head Office. This will cover the application of in-depth company specific standards in consultancy.

Remuneration: The compensation for this position is competitive and negotiable dependent on experience and demonstrable contribution.
