We are seeking an experienced Supply and Logistics Superintendent to manage Purchasing, Logistics, Warehousing and Inventory Control.
The Role: This role reports to the Finance and Administration Manager and involves managing and negotiating with local and international suppliers, liaising with Maintenance and Production teams to ensure high availability of parts and consumables and communicating across the wider business on supplies requirement.
The role’s primary objective will be to ensure best purchasing practices in delivering “right quality goods/service, at right times, in right quantities, from right sources, at right prices” and to maximize stock efficiency and accuracy.
The successful candidate will:
- Lead the Supply and Logistics team.
- Manage and maintain the vendor purchasing system within Pronto ERP.
- Ensure Stock re-orders are undertaken within strict timeframes.
- Review all outgoing Purchase orders for accuracy and price.
- Expedite orders and expedite ad hoc urgent stock requirements.
- Work closely with Production, Maintenance Planning, Mining and other stakeholders to ensure materials and products are available when required.
- Use initiative where appropriate to improve/enhance existing Policies and Procedures.
- Ensure daily/weekly and monthly reports are in place across the Supply department.
- Actively negotiate and seek cost competitive yet high quality suppliers both locally and internationally.
- Co-ordinate imports with overseas purchasers, consolidators and shipping and clearing agencies.
- Manage inventory levels including reconciliations and write-offs.
- Track consumption levels and adjust max/mm levels accordingly.
- Identify redundant stock and rectify.
- Ensure continuous improvement processes are in place and staff training occurs across all functions.
- Comply with all processes, policies & company reporting requirements.
Requirements
This is a critical role and to be considered you will have a strong “Can-Do” attitude, integrity, transparency and advanced stakeholder engagement proficiency.
Key requirements include:
- A high level of safety awareness and knowledge of best practice safety systems.
- Absolute integrity.
- Minimum 5 years hands on experience in a Supply Chain Management role in a mining or manufacturing industry.
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business.
- In depth understanding of demand, supply, inventory operations and customs processes.
- Knowledge of ERP systems with relevant purchasing/inventory control capability.
- Customs and international freight forwarder experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work in an international environment with suppliers located in different time zones.
- Stock replenishment planning experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical, statistical and mathematical skills with effective decision making.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Exposure to Pronto ERP will be highly regarded although not essential.
- Procurement experience within an engineering/industrial organization will be highly regarded
