Kenya Markets Trust (KMT) is a trademark of the Market Development Trust established in 2012 in response to a growing understanding of the importance of market “systems” as a mechanism for economic growth and poverty reduction.
KMT aims to create inclusive opportunities for the poor through market transformation. KMT will achieve its objectives by facilitating the realignment of the incentives, capacities, relationships and rules, which govern how markets work.
KMT wants to intensify its public awareness so as to share lessons learnt and programme progress.
KMT’s Communications Unit is therefore seeking the services ofPublic Relations Agency to strengthen its communication function.
- To increase awareness of KMT’s work externally and thus increase visibility for the organisation and its programmes
- To strengthen KMT’s visibility and image among external stakeholders
- To support KMT’s networking activities
- To build KMT’s staff communication skills so that they can communicate externally and represent the organisation effectively
The agency is required to have the following skills and experience:
- At least five years progressive experience carrying out PR activities for renowned organizations
- An organization which has carried out PR activities for non profit organizations will have an added advantage
- Proven experience in the area of public relations and awareness especially in agribusiness
- Availability and willingness to travel to various parts of the country when needed.
- Ability to work in close coordination with the communications department and other team members within the organization.
- Skilled and experienced staff in the area of public relations/communications/public affairs
- Willingness to work in a participatory and inclusive manner
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to work in a participatory and inclusive manner
- Interested firms or individuals should submit the following by 17th December 2014 at 5.00 pm:
- A Job Proposal that includes:
- A technical proposal stating how the firm intends to undertake the specified assignment with clear timelines.
- A financial proposal indicating consultancy fee (lump sum fee) and a breakdown of expenses (unit price together with any other expenses) related to the assignment.
- A Letter of Interest, stating why you consider yourself suitable for the assignment
- Summaries of selected work carried out for previous clients
- Work references with contact details (e-mail addresses) of referees
- CVs of key lead staff highlighting previous experiences in similar projects/organizations;
- Description of any professional equipment and software that will be used during the assignment.
