  • Facilitate capacity building of communities and partners on monitoring and ensure participatory monthly data collection
  • Ensure joint monthly monitoring of nutrition indicators as per schedule with communities and partners
  • Ensure collection nutrition data using standardized tools
  • Share nutrition monitoring data
  • Utilize DME software for accurate data entry, analysis and interpretation
  • Share nutrition baseline and evaluation reports at community and sub county levels
  • Facilitate regular reflections with the community on monitoring practice to make improvements as needed
  • Share data for use to develop quality reports (Annual, Semi-annul and Monthly Management Reports) in line with WV/grant reporting guidelines.
  • Ensure monthly monitoring of project expenditure and level of implementation
  • Ensure documentation of local needs and resources and share with appropriate sectors and partners
  • Identify and document nutrition best practices from the project
Engagement and networking
  • Effective representation of WVK in nutrition stakeholder meetings at county and sub-county levels in collaboration with the ADP/Project manager.
  • Report on resource mobilization opportunities at county and sub-county level
  • Participation in National/International nutrition days at county and sub-county level in collaboration with the ADP/Project manager.
  • Provide information to inform fund raising initiatives at national level
  • Work with the Ministry Health for technical direction and leveraging of resources to support nutrition interventions in the ADP.
  • Facilitate community members to advocate on nutrition issues to relevant stakeholders
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Qualifications: Education / Knowledge / Technical Skills and Experience
  • Relevant degree in Nutrition or their equivalent. Additional training in Community Nutrition will be an added advantage
  • Must be enrolled with Kenya Nutrition and Dietetics Institute (KNDI)

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that project designs are timely, needs based and in alignment with NO, sector, donor and community and/or government strategies:
  • Develop complex or high-value program designs and proposals/concept papers in collaboration with Operations and Technical staff.
  • Supervise team of POs to develop high-quality proposals and concept, ensuring highest priority opportunities are maximized at any given time.
  • Support project assessment and evaluation processes in collaboration with the DME Team, Project Managers and Technical Advisors.
  • In collaboration with Project Managers and Finance, ensure that both narrative and financial reports are submitted in a timely fashion and are of the highest quality and standard.
  • Support Program Officers and Project Managers by providing technical backstopping to projects.
  • Ensure that project designs adhere to HAP, Sphere and humanitarian standards, as well as specific donor standards and requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with donors, UN, NGOs, governments and Support Offices for marketing, fundraising and coordination purposes:
  • Represent WVS in coordination, donor and technical forums, taking notes when needed and providing this information to Project Managers, Regional Staff and Program Officers in a timely fashion with clear action points and opportunities.
  • Strategically liaise with donors, UN/NGO partners, bilateral, multilaterals and Support Offices to ensure new funding sources are realized and existing donors repeatedly fund the program for greater impact.
  • Explore and foster fundraising opportunities initiatives for private donors and publics.
  • Coordinate with Communications and Advocacy to pursue strategic marketing for the program.
Leadership and Staff Capacity Building:
  • Provide leadership to PD team through performance management and mentoring.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 
Educational level and technical required:
  • Degree in Development Studies, International Relations, Development Management or Degree in any relevant Social Sciences with experience in Program Development.
  • Knowledgeable of MS Word, Excel, Power Point etc.

Experience:
  • At least 3-5 years experience in program design, monitoring and evaluation in a complex humanitarian context.
  • Previous management experience of multi-cultural, diverse, and remote/virtual teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience in writing successful proposals, project documentation, reporting, program information for donors and the World Vision/partnership.
  • Familiarity with institutional grant compliance and procedures across the widest variety of donors (USAID/OFDA, USAID FFP, DFID, EC/Devco, ECHO, Canada DFATD, Australia DFAT, UN donors, development banks, etc.)
