Summary: Our client is a mobile telecom support company looking for a Product Manager.
    
Job Purpose: The Product Manager will work closely with the Programme Manager and Regional project teams to lead the product development, commercial business case formulation and pricing strategies of mHealth products into the priority countries.

The product manager will be accountable and responsible for ensuring the quality and sustainability of the product/services, from guiding the definition and shaping of the requirements through to supporting mobile operators implement the services with strategic partners.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ability to take the research requirements and the needs of the various in-country stakeholders (e.g. Health Ministries, Mobile Operators, Health providers, etc) to formulate a mobile health product strategy and roadmap from which products can be designed, developed and deployed.
  • Assess and provide feedback on the objective analysis of a potential market opportunity to provide a basis for investment.
  • Ability to define and enable appropriate product architecture for the product/services.
  • Support delivery of product requirements and help with prioritizing features and corresponding justification.
  • Engage in the product life cycle from strategic planning through to tactical activities.
  • Ensure integration of the new product with the existing business.
  • Advise on the product technical aspects of the related business processes.
  • Advise on appropriate mobile technologies to aid the development of the services.
  • Work with third parties to assess partnerships and licensing requirements.
  • Maintain close relationship with the market (customers, evaluators, and potentials) for awareness of products needs and perspectives.
  • Ensure defined operational metrics are met by the product requirements.
  • Proactively communicate with senior management and key stakeholders on the technical performance of the product.
  • Analyzing potential partner relationships for the product.
  • Extracting product model better practices and support tools in the development of future products.
  • Robust understanding of grant objectives, activities and associated budget.
  • Support Regional Project team and maintain project plan for engagements in country.
  • Understand and guide technical implementations in the context of mobile technologies.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Technology or related field.
Experience and Skills:
  • Experience working in a similar role in a mobile operator company and health related programmes is ideal.
  • Experience in mobile Value Added Service (VAS) product management.
  • Proven success in delivering programmes in a fast changing and uncertain environment with clear evidence of personal involvement in complex technical, commercial and management issues.
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products.
  • Experience in designing and managing implementation of the commercial aspects of mobile products.
  • Demonstrable track record of analyzing product capabilities and market requirements.

Our client is a popular and leading urban radio station based in Nairobi. 

They seek to hire a motivated and result oriented sales executive to join the sales team.

The purpose of the role is to sell radio advertising space to brands, agencies and other clients. 

They will bring in existing relationships with advertisers and agencies, while cultivating new relationships, managing sales, forecasting revenue and helping the sales & marketing team gain market insights.

Job Responsibilities

  • Sell radio airtime, ads and advertising space to potential clients.
  • Provide marketing and sales support to the sales manager to identify and solicit new business; service and grow existing clients.
  • Grow new channels through marketing initiatives e.g. Agencies, direct clients.
  • Identify Marketing Opportunities for the current products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to clients and non-clients.
  • Track marketing performance and effectiveness of the products across all segments of the business and ensure customer and product profitability objectives are met.
  • Develop market intelligence for strategic and day to day marketing.
  • Maintains quality service by enforcing company quality standards.
  • Promote products through marketing and promotion activities.
  • Meeting the set sales targets.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Build strong client relationships for enhanced business growth.
Required Qualifications
  • Possess a Diploma/Marketing Degree.
  • 2 year’s advert sales experience in a similar role; advertising, media selling or TV service.
  • A good understanding of media; Radio and TV industry.
  • Presentable, confident, passionate and enthusiastic.
  • Young, energetic and result oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Excellent client service, communication and interpersonal skills

Position: Youth Coordinator
 
Location: Mathare
 
Reports to: ECD Coordinator
 
Hours: 6 days a week (expected to work over the weekend then take a day-off during the week) Sunday 1-5pm.
 
Shining Hope for Communities has developed an innovative, community-driven model to combat inter-generational cycles of poverty and gender inequality in Nairobi’s Kibera slum. We link free schools for girls to accessible social services for all. 

In August 2009, we founded The Kibera School for Girls, the first entirely free school for girls in Kibera. The second step of our model provides the community-at-large with tangible benefits through a community center adjacent to the school. 

The unique services we offer include sanitary eco-toilets, a library and cyber café, gender violence support, microenterprise for HIV positive women, a youth center, access to water, business and literacy training, and hundreds of jobs. We also operate the Johanna Justin-Jinich Community Clinic, which specializes in primary care and maternal health.

Job Scope: The Youth Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating programs for youth in the Kibera community.

Duties and Responsibilities

Research and develop programs for youth
  • Assess the program needs of youth in the community and identify areas where new programs are needed
  • Communicate with youth to determine their needs and interests
  • Ensure a variety of programs and activities are planned and implemented
  • Document and report on program progress
Plan and implement activities for youth
  • Develop plans of work for the various youth departments
  • Oversee the implementation of the youth program activities
  • Recruit and expand the beneficiaries’ base for the youth and market the activities undertaken by the youth.
  • Offer strategic direction and oversight for Ghetto Mirror- a monthly community magazine produced by the youth
  • Recruit, train and oversee youth leaders
  • Encourage local youth to participate in local, regional and national programs
Promote youth programs
  • Ensure that youth are aware of available activities
  • Coordinate a community relations campaign to promote youth programs
  • Arrange for advertising of youth programs
  • Maintain contacts with local, regional and territorial organizations for youth
Administer youth programs
  • Prepare an annual work plan for youth activities
  • Work with the Community Programs Officer to prepare the youth program annual budget
  • Record information on and prepare reports concerning youth programs, costs, numbers of participants and equipment and facility use
  • Provide weekly, monthly and yearly reports
  • Ensure that all programs and activities are implemented according to relevant policies and procedures
  • Monitor the use of equipment and facilities
  • Work with the Community Programs Officer and Metrics & Evaluation team to evaluate the effectiveness of programs.
Candidate Specification
  • A diploma in Youth leadership development, Project Management or Community Development
  • A degree in social sciences will be an added advantage
  • 3 years experience in management of youth programs
  • Experience working in informal settlements
  • Good communication skills and conflict resolution skills
  • Self-motivated, innovative and self directed
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must be Computer Literate
