Position: Group Marketing Officer
Reporting to the Group Chief Executive Officer
The ideal candidate should be experienced in sales and marketing, communication and should be able to work independently with no supervision. This person must have strong leadership skills and well organized, flexible and embrace the challenge of managing a big group of diverse people and businesses.
Background in running an investment in holding companies will be helpful.
The ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role. Expert level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision making ability and attention to detail are equally important.
The candidate must have
- Bachelors Degree in Marketing, communication or any related field, a Masters degree is added advantage,
- 7 years experience as a group marketing manager in a reputable company
- Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word, outlook, and access
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing major projects or initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop overall marketing and corporate communications strategy for all the subsidiary companies.
- Facilitate client development through marketing and client services programs.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Direct designing and implementation, of annual marketing plan for subsidiary companies,
- Support and facilitate development and implementation of annual budgets for marketing departments,
- Participate in organizing and implementation of client relations programs including:
- client satisfaction surveys
- client development activities
- client skills training
- special events
- Work with subsidiary companies marketing managers on development of client database and customer segmentation,
- Oversee corporate communications activities including:
- Developing an external and external communications system
- public relations efforts
- Design and plan marketing training seminars for sales and marketing executives in all subsidiaries,
- Oversee companies’ electronic marketing efforts including supervision of Web site design and maintenance,
- Supervise Marketing managers, Communications Managers and participate in staffing and hiring decisions within marketing departments.
- Conduct marketing training needs assessments; develop internal and external training programs to fill the training gaps in all portfolio companies
- Work with General Managers to appraise marketing managers on implementation of marketing plans.
- Any other duties as directed by the Group CEO.
- Languages – Must be fluent in English, working knowledge in Swahili is added advantage but not a requirement.
