General Objectives:
1. To support Partner
Organisations, the Regional and Country Coordination Office(s) to implement and
monitor a coherent, inclusive and qualitative emergency response to the food
crisis in Kenya and other affected parts of East Africa.
2. To develop a
financial strategy, implementation, reporting and monitoring plan.
3. To develop contacts
and foster relationships with in-country donor organisations to attract funding.
4. To develop contacts
and partnerships with relief organisations in Kenya and the region for
mainstreaming disability into emergency and post emergency planning and
implementation.
General Reporting Reports to: CBM East Africa
Regional Programme Manager; coordinates with the Emergency Response Unit Senior
Manager and relevant Country Coordinators
Job Profile:

· Follow up and monitor
existing emergency response projects, ensuring timely and quality reporting
including the delivery of materials for communications and fundraising.
· Coordinate with
partners, Regional and Country Coordination Offices, Emergency Response Unit,
Member Associations and International Office to ensure streamlined
communication between all parties.
· Develop a “designated
funding” strategy, develop designated funding proposals, and ensure good
financial coverage of emergency response.
· Advocate to
appropriate humanitarian organisations and emergency forums for the inclusion
of persons with disabilities within the emergency and post emergency setting.
· Ensure regular
situation reporting to the CBM family of the emergency situation in the East
Africa region.
· Support the
coordination and the organisation of programmes for visitors / teams travelling
to the affected catchment areas.

Professional Experience
· Minimum of 3 years
experience in project/ programme management in a post emergency /
reconstruction context
· Experience of coordination
in a complex environment involving diverse stakeholders
· Extensive experience
in developing projects for designated funding and managing sizable and complex
designated grants
· Working experience
with local partners will be a strong advantage
Education and knowledge
· High or continuous
education in humanitarian / development sectors
· Project cycle
management
· Fluent in English
· Master in relevant
fields desirable, e.g. humanitarian, disability, planning or equivalent
