Due to an increase in demand we are currently recruiting a:
Senior Hostess (M/F)
Profile :
We are looking for an outgoing person who is able to work with minimal supervision in the front house department (reception, restaurant and bar). The incumbent should be easily adaptable to new situations and guests of all walks of life.
The interested person should be able to control situations with confidence and work well under pressure. The ability to deal with guest complaints and communicate effectively is a must have.
The incumbent should value team work and is flexible. Accuracy and drive to excel are a must. Since the incumbent will be handling cash, a proven record of honesty and integrity are part of the selection procedure .
Requirements:
· Fluency in English
and Kiswahili
· Have basic computer
skills – solve minor IT problems
· Basic skills in
secretarial duties (filing, taking minutes, writing letters/faxes/emails,
updating the room planner, database)
· Willing to learn and
support the philosophy of UF
· At least 1.5 – 2
years of experience in a similar position in the hospitality industry.
· Have a background
through education or experience (diploma level) in reservations or other hotel
field.
· Able and willing to
work on a duty rota which includes evenings and weekends including public
holidays.
Responsibilities:
· Receive guests in a
friendly and welcoming manner within the set standards
· Communicate
effectively with other departments and colleagues about relevant issues.
· Be observant to
guests’ needs and react on them promptly and adequately
· Be well groomed and
presentable at all times while at the duty station.
· Assign guest rooms
according to the prescribed check – in procedures.
· Bill the guests
according to the set out procedures and assure records are kept in accordance
with procedures.
· Maintain proper
cleanliness of the front house department
· Solve minor guest
complaints or problems independently
· Receive in coming
calls and route them to relevant persons
· Make out going calls
on behalf
· Assign duties to
front house staff including waiters.
· Perform duty manager
duties according to Duty Manager roster if need arises
· To achieve team
efforts and results flexibility will be requested in performing other duties
not in your contract to enhance optimum service levels.

Compensation: Minimum: Ksh. 10,000/= Maximum Ksh. 16,355/=
