Karatina University College was established as a Constituent College of Moi University through legal notice No. 163 of October 2010. 

Currently, the College offers degree and diploma programmes in Education and Social Sciences, Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences, Business, Agriculture and Biotechnology and Pure and Applied Sciences. 

The College is situated 15 km North of Karatina Town on Ragati Tea Factory/ Kagochi road. The College is seeking to fill the following positions.

1.0 Senior Assistant Librarian: 

Scale 13 Ref: KarUC/SAL/1/2012

Qualifications and Experience

• A Masters Degree in Library and Information Sciences or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized University.
• Five (5) years working experience in a well established automated library/information centre at the level of Assistant Librarian.
• Published at least three (3) articles in refereed journals or a book.
• Evidence of attendance to seminars/workshops on modern information resources management.

2.0 Assistant Librarian : 

Scale 12 Ref: KarUC/AL/2/2012

Qualifications and Experience

• A Masters Degree in Library and Information Sciences or its equivalent qualifications from a recognized University.
• Four (4) years working experience in a well established automated library/information centre.
• Published at least two (2) articles in refereed journals or a book.

3.0 School Of Agriculture And Biotechnology : Ref: KarUC /SAB/3/2012

(A) Department of Crop Science

Senior Technician in Horticulture

Grade E/F (9/10): (Ref: KarUC/SAB/STH/2012)

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must have a Higher National Diploma in the relevant area with five (5) years working experience as Technician Grade C/D.
Or
A BSc. Degree in Horticulture or its equivalent with three (3) years working experience in an institution of higher learning or a large scale Horticultural firm.

Technician in Crop Science

Grade B ( 6): (Ref: KarUC/SAB/TCS/2012)

Qualifications and Experience

• Holder of a Diploma in Applied Biology
• At least three (3) years work experience in an academic institution or hands- on relevant experience in the field

(B) Department of Food Science and Nutrition

Technician in Food Nutrition

Grade B ( 6): (Ref: KarUC/SAB/TFN/2012)

Qualifications and Experience

• Must be a holder of Diploma in Food Nutrition or Human Nutrition or Nutrition and Dietetics
• At least three (3) years work experience in an institution or higher learning or hospital

4.0 School Of Pure And Applied Sciences : Ref: KarUC/SPAS/8/2012

(A) Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Sciences

Tutorial Fellow in Actuarial Science Grade 11: 

 (Ref: KarUC/SPAS/TF/2012)

Qualifications and Experience

• A Masters degree in Actuarial Science
• One year teaching experience

(B) Department of Physical Sciences

Senior Technician 

(Physics) Grade E/F (9/10)

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must have a Higher National Diploma in the relevant area with five (5) years working experience as Technician Grade C/D.
Or
A Bachelors Degree with three (3) years working experience in an institution of higher learning or related industry. 

Technician 

(Physics) Grade B (6)

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must have a Diploma in the relevant area with 3 years working experience in an institution of higher learning or related industry.

5.0 School Of Education And Social Sciences : Ref: KarUC/SESS/8/2012

(A) Department of Humanities and Languages

Senior Technician  

(Educational Media Resources) Grade E/F (9/10)

Areas of specialization: Mass Media Production, Radio Production, Television Production, Photo Journalism, Online Journalism and Video Editing.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must have a Higher National Diploma (KNEC) in the relevant area with five (5) years working experience in an institution of higher learning or related industry.

Or

A relevant Bachelors Degree with three (3) years working experience in an institution of higher learning or related industry.

Technician 

(Educational Media Resources) Grade B (6)

Areas of specialization: Mass Media Production, Radio Production, Television Production, Photo Journalism, Online Journalism and Video Editing.

Applicants must have a Diploma (KNEC) in the relevant area with three (3) years working experience in an institution of higher learning or related industry.
