Engineers Board of Kenya Logo Competition
The Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) is a statutory body established under The Engineers Act, 2011.
The role of the Board is the registration of engineers and engineering Consulting Firms, regulation of engineering professional services, setting of standards, and development of the general practice of engineering.
EBK will contribute to the transformation of the engineering service delivery which will be expected to function effectively, innovatively and in a results- oriented and accountable manner.
The Board is seeking to develop a logo that will capture and portray the Board’s mandate and aspirations.
Conditions of Participation
- The Contest is open only to both individual designers and corporate bodies.
- Staff of the Engineers Board of Kenya, Board Members and their immediate families are not eligible to enter the Contest.
Guidelines, rules and regulations for the competition:
- Entries MUST not in any way be similar to existing logos or other copyrighted images.
- The logo to be simple, clear and distinctly identifiable and relevant for effective application.
- The logo must contain the words” Engineers Board of Kenya.”
- The entries must be submitted as a scalable vector graphic in EPS format or equivalent, and also as a JPEG.
- The logo must be presented in high resolution and in 3D format
- Design to be accompanied by a written description of its meaning and features
- A participant may submit not more than three options.
- There is no fee charged to enter the competition
- The Board is not bound to award any entry, if in the sole discretion of the Board, no submission is deserving or suitable.
- EBK reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant or Entry at its sole discretion.
Intellectual Property Rights
- Design of either the winning entry or the first and second runners up submission may be subjected to necessary modification and adapted as EBK logo.
- EBK reserves the right to register the winning logo as its copyright.
- Any material graphic software or other items prepared by a winning entrant in the competition shall belong to and remain the property of EBK.
- The designers shall declare that the design is their original work.
- The winner will be required to sign a contract assigning all ownership of the logo to EBK
Submission
- Submission should be in 2 hard copies on A4 size paper and CD ROM soft in windows compatible.
- Entrants in the competition Must fill the entry form EBK/L/1A available at the Board’s website www.ebk.or.ke under the tenders section.

and deposited in the tender boxes situated at the Board’s Offices, Transcom Building Annex 1st Floor, Ngong’ Road.
The submissions deadline is 30th May 2014 at 10.00 am
Judging and Selection of Winner
- The winning design will be selected by judges appointed for the purpose. The judges decision will be final. No further correspondence shall be entered into.
- EBK reserves the right not to select a winner if, in its sole discretion, no suitable entries are received.
- EBK reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant or Entry at its sole discretion. No correspondence shall be entered into.
- The winner of the competition shall be announced at the Board’s premises
Award
The following shall be the award for the winning entries:
Overall Winner - 100,000
Ist Runner up - 75,000
2nd Runner up - 50,000
Ist Runner up - 75,000
2nd Runner up - 50,000
