A leading Kenyan Financial Institution is seeking to recruit highly competent and focused individuals for the following position:

Head of Human Resources and Administration

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, his/her duties will include:
  • Lead the HR, Administration, Procurement and Security teams to deliver all planned and agreed department and individual performance targets to ensure that the various sections are efficient and value adding to the Organization.
  • Ensure development of all team members through performance feedback, recommend training where appropriate and coach and mentor individuals for growth.
  • Direct and oversee the human resource strategy, planning, learning and development, performance management, reward strategies and employee welfare ensuring that the Organization’s Human Resource policies attract, develop and retain exemplary staff.
  • Formulate policies for the Organization’s overall administration, ensuring staff adherence to the policies and implementing corrective actions to address any issues raised through internal and external audits. All internal customers should be well served on the administrative front.
  • Ensure that the Organization’s premises are always well maintained to maintain the required high standards of ambiance, identifying any obsolete assets and recommending for and managing their disposal in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with the Legal department to ensure that lease agreements are always in place and up to date.
  • Ensure that all long term and short term service providers adhere to service level agreements and all contracts are completed on time in full.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all staff, clients and visitors to all the Organization’s premises.
  • Ensure adherence to the required security standards in all Organization premises and all Organization transactions.
  • Ensure the safety of all Organization assets through the recommendation and implementation of adequate security systems and security manning levels in all Organization premises.
  • Ensure that the Organization’s fleet of vehicles is insured, maintained, and available for use by all employees while maintenance and usage (fuel costs) are maintained within or below budget.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
  • A first Degree in HR Management, Social Sciences or Business Administration.
  • A post graduate qualification (MBA HR or Business Option or HND in HR Management or Business Administration)
Previous relevant work experience required
  • At least 8 years working experience with at least 3 at management level
