Job Title: Procurement Officer 
 
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
 
Job Overview: Our Client, running a chain of pharmacies across the country is looking to recruit a Procurement Officer. 
 
Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure the implementation of sound and acceptable best practices in procurement practice and stores management.
  • Ensure the organization obtains value for money in every procurement done, besides adhering to quality standards set by the organization
Specific Duties

  • Strategically centralize purchasing activity across the company & budget for the department
  • Develop and manage all third party vendor procurement agreements, purchasing and vendor contractual initiatives
  • With existing vendors ensure contractual rates are communicated where applicable, manage manufacturing efficiencies, price negotiations, and request for purchasing
  • Proactively resolve internal & external customer related needs and offer proactive solutions
  • Overall supervision of the stores operations
  • Develop key production outsourcing initiatives in the event outsourcing activities need to take place
  • Aggressive cost management to forecast market influences & in depth knowledge of key materials
  • Develop a leadership pipeline for the team
  • Develop and execute purchasing policies and procedures to standardize purchasing activity

Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in purchasing and supplies

Experience
  • Should have 5 years experience in FMCG environment
Salary: Kshs 100,000 gross
