Job Title: Assistant Manager – Alternative Distribution Channels

Division / Department: Marketing & Business Development
 
Immediate Supervisor: Head of Marketing & Business Development

Overall Responsibility: The position is responsible for leading the ADC Unit in the identification, servicing and growing the relationship of the various new and existing product distribution channels.
Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

  • Business Development which involves  identifying, growing and meeting new business and renewals in relation to Banc-assurance and other Alternative Distribution Channels
  • Providing Support and Customer Service to the various partners and distribution channels
  • Drive Product Innovation in the Product Development Committee by proposing various Micro insurance Products
  • Provide logistical support in branding and product development of micro insurance products
  • Conduct Market and competitor research on new and existing products.
  • Retain, develop and maintain constant contact and establish an effective  communication protocols with key stakeholders in Bancassurance & Micro Insurance sector
  • Monitor and evaluate & give feedback the performance of Key products including Orient Mobile; Safaribima and other Micro insurance and Bancassurance products.
  • Provide feedback to Management on operations, challenges, progress and the needs of the Micro-Insurance unit.
  • Manage the Performance and Development of the staff in the unit
  • Work closely with trainers to develop and implement a Consumer Education program for the micro-insurance customers.
  • Conduct Trainings and informative Sessions to the various distribution channels and partners
  • Carry out a direct client acquisition activation campaigns for the micro Insurance Products
  • Act as a Liaison between the various distribution partners i.e Banks, MFI’s, Sacco’s and others with the claims, Underwriting, Finance & Customer Experience Units ensuring all matters are resolved
Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University
  • Minimum 3CII / AIIK Papers or its Equivalent
  • Six (6) Years’ Experience, Two (2) of which should be in a similar role
Competencies
  • Strong analytical, communication and leadership skills
  • Knowledge in Product Development and Pricing
  • Knowledge of insurance principles and Underwriting practice
  • A strong Desire for innovation and entrepreneurship
  • Relationship Building Skills
