She/he will be responsible for all aspects of information systems, technology, information technology planning and direction, systems security and database, oversee the implementation of an integrated information services system for the head office and branch network.
Duties and Responsibilities
- To maintain and support all the existing computer installations and software and recommend and oversee continuous upgrade of the systems.
- To plan, oversee and co-ordinate the development, installation and support of computing and network support services for the office and branch network.
- To oversee and/or participate in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of end user services and integrated information initiatives.
- To co-ordinate and provide leadership for new system development and implementation and current system enhancements and improvement and to review, evaluate and develop proposals for new hardware/software and/or upgrades as appropriate.
- To plan and co-ordinate the analysis design, programming, timely implementation, and testing of all information systems projects.
- To oversee the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training and development and problem resolution, and to evaluate performance and make recommendation for personnel actions; to motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
- To participate in development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, objectives, short and long-range planning, to develop tracking and evaluation programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals.
- To provide on-call support for computer/network systems.
- To develop and co-ordinate programs and initiatives to ensure quality of performance and currency of skills among staff within the organization.
- To maintain a broad knowledge of state of the art technology, equipment, and/or systems to provide regular updates and reports to the management.
- To perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
and skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT.
- Microsoft qualifications will be an added advantage.
- Hands on experience in computerized packages particularly SUN and Bankers Realm.
- 2-3 years’ experience in a financial services industry.
