Business Analyst
As the Bank of the European Union, the European Investment Bank (EIB) works in support of EU development and economic co-operation policies by financing investments in both public and private sectors.
The
EIB is seeking to recruit for its Regional Office in Central and Eastern
Africa, in Nairobi, a dynamic and result oriented individual who will have the
opportunity to make a varied, interesting and substantial contribution to the
EIB activities in the region, primarily in the financial sector.
The key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting
the SME and micro-finance lending and investment processes in line with
the Bank’s guidelines and procedures;
- Monitoring
project implementation progress and preparing monitoring reports;
- Reviewing
borrowers financial situation and monitoring the fulfilment of their
contractual obligations;
- Prospecting
for new business and handling meetings with project promoters;
- Assisting
in preparation and monitoring of technical assistance programmes for
credit lines and infrastructure projects; and
- Providing
analytic research or other professional support as required.
Suitable
candidates must hold a university degree in a financial, economic, or a
business related field, preferably supplemented by post-graduate studies and/or
specialised training in credit or financial analysis.
They
should have 2-3 years relevant professional experience in banking or the
financial sector and must have working knowledge of accounting principles and
financial analysis.
Excellent
command of spoken and written English is a requirement while knowledge of
French would be an advantage.
This position is open to Kenya citizens and those having valid Kenya work permits. Candidates should be willing to frequently travel within the region.
