Giraffe Ark Lodge is a serene sanctuary that graces the famous plains of Kieni in Nyeri County and is strategically placed between the majestic Aberdare Ranges to the south and the imposing snowcapped Mt.Kenya to the North.

The Lodge is a travelers’ haven located just three hours’ drive or a 15 minute flight from Nairobi. Giraffe ark is a rich fusion of Pan African, Western, Oriental, and Arabian themes with a homely atmosphere.

Restaurant Managers (Chinese / Continental Cuisine)

Job Overview: They shall be responsible for managing restaurant operations to deliver an excellent Guest experience. A Restaurant Manager would also be required to manage, train, and develop team members and work within all budgeted guidelines.
 

General Responsibilities

• Manage Restaurant operations
• Maintain exceptional levels of customer service
• Recruit, manage, train and develop the Restaurant team
• Manage guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
• Work within budgeted guidelines in relation to Food and Payroll
• Drive sales to maximize budgeted revenue
• Develop menus with other members of Food & Beverage team
• Accountable for monthly stock takes
• Come up with incentives for team members to maximize sales and revenue
• Set departmental targets and objectives, work schedules, budgets, and policies and procedures
• Evaluate guest satisfaction levels with a focus on continuous improvement
• Ensure communication meetings are conducted and post-meeting minutes generated
• Be environmentally aware to ensure sustainability of operations
• Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
• Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

• Applicants must have a degree/diploma in hotel management, training in advanced F&B service and sales, revenue management and cost control.
• S/he should be proficient in hotel application systems and have at least 3 years relevant experience in a similar position
• Management and/or supervisory in  Food & Beverage experience
• Able to meet financial targets
• Ability to comply with all Food & Beverage brand standards
• Ability to work under pressure
• Excellent grooming standards
• Willingness to develop team members and self
• Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
