recruit a Program Associate for its Kenya programs.
Based in Kisumu, Kenya, and reporting to the Program Officer in Nairobi, the Program Associate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of program partners, and working with other World Neighbors staff and short term consultants to provide organizational capacity building and program support for holistic, people-centered rural development.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Negotiate annual work plans and corresponding budgets with partner organizations.
- Assist partner organizations in conducting program planning, budgeting, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
- Manage/facilitate/enhance platform (network) relationships that involve a variety of stakeholders and peer organizations.
- Ensure that the program activities are implemented according to approved plans and budgets.
- Consolidate partner/program progress reports for World Neighbors and donors.
- Facilitate organizational assessment of partner organizations and community self help groups and jointly formulate and implement support initiatives.
- Facilitate and participate in the documentation of program processes and outcomes.
- Liaise/collaborate with governmental and non governmental organizations involved in development work in the partner organizations’ geographical areas of operation and beyond.
- Collaborate/share experiences with Program Associates in other countries of the region.
- Work closely with thematic coordinators and other World Neighbors staff to ensure adequate quality outcomes of program interventions.
Qualifications,
Competencies and Experience
- A bachelors degree with at least three (3) years experience in similar positions
- Experience in organizational development is essential
- Experience in managing networks, platforms and development forums essential
- Strong leadership skills and experience in working with international development organizations, local NGOs, and CBOs
- Experience in participatory rural development and program management
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and must be a team player.
- Computer literacy particularly in MS Office.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, coaching, and facilitation skills.
