AAR Insurance Tanzania now wishes to recruit an Assistant General Manager.
Overall Purpose of the Position
Reporting to the General Manager, the person will be in charge of overseeing Insurance Operations including Underwriting, Claims, Membership, Risk Management and Customer Service in the company.

Job Profile
- Put together growth strategies, budgets for monitor performance.
- Ensure all business is properly rated and the right premium is charged and benefits are included at the correct levels so as to ensure there is underwriting profit.
- Ensure the company has strong risk management processes and procedures that safe-guard the interests of the company and its customers.
- Manage the underwriting, reinsurance, customer service and claims functions of the company.
- Negotiate reinsurance and co-insurance agreements.
- Ensure all operations of the business are compliant as per the Insurance Act and other statutory provisions that govern the business of insurance in Tanzania as per awarded trading license.
- Ensure all documented procedures of the company are being followed and any deviations noted for correction by the relevant sections of the company.
- Assist the Senior Management team in the development of appropriate strategies that promote the company’s operations, competitiveness and growth and ensure implementation of the same ¡n areas of responsibility.
Person
Profile
- University degree in Business Administration or similar.
- A Diploma in Insurance.
- An MBA or studying towards the same will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 3 years in a middle management in the Insurance industry in either Underwriting, Claims or Sales and Marketing.
- A citizen of any East African Community Country although priority will be given to Tanzanian nationals.
