Financial Controller

The role is overall responsible for the sound financial operation of the company operations in Tanzania and reports to the General Manager.

The position is open to qualifying Citizens from East and Central Africa

Key responsibilities include:-

• Prepare and review financial reports to ensure compliance to Financial Reporting standards.
• Coordinate country budget preparation and review the consolidated budget for approval.
• Control/manage costs within budget to contribute to the achievement of budgetary goals.
• Timely & Accurate reporting – Provide management with timely and accurate reports which will be reliable & relevant for decision making.
• Funds Management – management of cash balances & near cash balances to ensure that liabilities are covered when they fall due. Via; - Cash flow planning, debt management and timely payments to the suppliers.
• Ensure compliance to regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate both internal and external audits, follow up closure of arising issues
• Develop and maintain relationships with the banks & financial institutions to ensure beneficial strategic opportunities are obtained.
• Liaise with IT department to continuously improve existing accounting and reporting systems.
• Team leadership and development

The person:-

• Bachelor’s degree in a business related field with a CPA (K)/ACCA qualification
• Four years experience in general accounting in a busy environment, preferably in the Oil and Gas Sector with at least a 2 years stint in a managerial position.
• Excellent computer skills especially working knowledge with Ms. Excel worksheets and competency in SAP accounting system.
• Sound knowledge of preparation and presentation of financial statements
• Excellent leadership skills with an excellent track record of leading high performing team
• Business communication skills
• Open minded and motivated and with self drive.
