County Director Accounting Services - Job Group R (1 Post)
County Director Accounting Services - Job Group R (1 Post)
Terms of Service: Permanent
Requirement for Appointment
- Either a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance or Accounting, or in Business Administration or in any other relevant equivalent.
- A Master’s degree in Business Administration with Finance or Accounting option, will be an added advantage
- Be registered with the Institute of Certified Public Accounts of Kenya (ICPAK)
- Relevant working experience of not less five years
- Have capacity to work under pressure to meet strict timeless
- Have ability to work in multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and for diversity
- Satisfy the requirements of chapter six of the constitution
- Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the values and principles as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the constitution of Kenya
- Be Computer literate
Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement approved Government accounting standards by the executive committee member,
- Design and develop County Accounting systems;
- Provide advice on County Government reporting systems;
- Provide a link between County bodies on matters relating to public sector Financial reporting;
- Develop guidelines for County accounting staffing levels and training to ensure technical competence;
- Oversee the implementation of the approved accounting standards, policies and concepts to ensure compliance;
- Undertake capacity building for staff at the County level;
- Ensure proper banking arrangements between the County Government, CBK, overseeing cash management and control the operation of the County Exchequer Account;
- Drafting and revising regulations for new and existing funds
- Monitoring and ensuring timely production of management and statutory financial reports.
Assistant Director Accounting Services - Job Group P (1 Post)
Terms of Service: Permanent
Requirement for Appointment
- Degree in either Bachelor of Commerce or Business Administration with Finance or Accounting option
- Be registered with the Institute of Certified Public Accounts of Kenya (ICPAK)

- Monitoring the implementation of Accounting standards and systems for compliance
- Follow up on Audit matters, compilation of County Treasury Memorandum
- Follow up on implementation of County Assembly Public Accounts Committee recommendations, consolidation of cash flow projection by Ministries
- Any other duty as may be assigned by the County Director Accounting Service
- Maintaining the accounting systems records
- Maintaining the County’s books of accounts
Principal Internal Auditor - Job Group N (1 Post)
Terms of Service: Permanent
Requirements for Appointment
- Be a Kenyan citizen
- Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Have CPA (K)
- Be a registered member of ICPAK or institute of Internal Auditors
- Relevant working experience of not less than 5 years in Audit in a public /private organization
- Be conversant with various financial management computer packages
- Satisfy the requirement of chapter six of the constitution of Kenya 2010.
Duties and responsibilities
- Perform financial operational and information system audit
- Helping in planning organizing, directing, coordinating and controlling of internal audit functions
- Assist in establishing and managing a risk based audit plan consistent with the county objectives
- Communicate plans of engagement and resource requirements for the internal Audit function
- Play a key role in maintaining a strong control environment and supporting initiatives that improve performance
- Developing leading capabilities in terms of resources, methodology and technology, communicating plans for engagement and resource requirements for internal audit functions
Principal Accountant - Job Group N (2 Posts)
Terms of Service: Permanent
Requirement for Appointment
- Bachelors’ Degree in either, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce
- Be registered with the Institute of Certified Public Accounts of Kenya (ICPAK)
- Relevant working experience of not less five years
- Have capacity to work under pressure to meet strict timeless
- Satisfy the requirements of chapter six of the constitution
- Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the values and principles as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the constitution of Kenya
- Be Computer literate
Duties and Responsibilities
