Our client is a Church Institution seeking to recruit young, energetic and pro-active and self-driven individual to fill the position ofBusiness Development Executive
Job Purpose: The Business Development Executive (BDE) is responsible for generating leads and supporting new business revenue in corporate events and functions.
The BDE will have his/her own prospect portfolio focused on specific business sectors.
He/she will be responsible for developing a sales contact plan and building strategic proposals
- Generating sales leads by networking, referrals and cold calling as well as maintaining an active sales pipeline
- Work with and expand current prospect database within specified business sectors to generate effective leads & exceed sales targets for the business
- Develop a sales contact plan direct marketing.
- Respond to incoming Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs) in a professional and creative manner
- To drive sales in Corporate Events by enthusiastically promoting as a backdrop for Weddings and a wide range of corporate events.
- Following up all enquiries to generate sales and accompanying potential clients on site visits.
- Proactively maintain excellent working relationships with current clients in order to promote future sales.
- Actively involved in planning, setting up and coordination of events
- Carry out all administrative duties involved in the co-ordination of events. This will include the issue of confirmation letters, licenses for hire and planning schedules.
- Liaison with the Finance Department for the issue of invoices. Demonstrate the importance of maintaining clear reporting systems for auditing purposes.
- Set up and manage efficient systems of communication to ensure the smooth running of events. This will include close liaison with all departments through face-to-face meetings, briefs and the regular circulation of events notices.
- Identify new opportunities as they arise, and an awareness of the marketing tools that may be used.
- Create and maintain an extensive network of suppliers, in order to ensure that all clients’ needs are met as and when required.
- To liaise with clients and contractors in order to ensure that the highest health and safety standards are established and maintained.
Minimum Requirements and Personal Attributes
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- 2 – 3 years’ experience in selling services
- Born Again Christian
- Commitment to the institution’s Mission and Vision
- Ability to interact with and influence multiple sales channels
- Driven and motivated by results
- Strong presenter and negotiator
- A self-starter who can spot new opportunities
- Demonstrate the ability to drive Weddings/Corporate business through increased sales
- Must be able to enthusiastically promote the institution as a backdrop for a wide range of events, demonstrating a strong ability to prospective clients.
- Must be pro-active and have the ability to prioritize and remain calm under pressure.
- Must be flexible, practical and have excellent organisational skills.
- Must be friendly, approachable and confident in dealing with people at all levels, both on the telephone and in person.
Salary: Kshs. 30,000 retainer and 10% commission on every sale
