Our Client, a real estate company is seeking to recruit a Caretaker who will be responsible for maintaining and up keeping properties in safe and secure environment for customers and employees.
Duties and Responsibilities
- In liaison with the Housekeeping department oversee the cleaning of the grounds and inside buildings
- In liaison with the Administration assistants accepting deliveries and routing mail
- Repairing equipment and placing orders i.e General maintenance and minor repair work including: doors, windows etc, also oversee the technicians called for any repairs.
- Working hand in hand with the Head of security to oversee surveillance using the CCTV
- Preparing rooms for meetings and events
- Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
- Obtains help by sounding alarms.
- Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers to the building in liaison with the security guards.
- Completes reports by recording observations and reporting to the management.
- Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.
- Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
- Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques
- Report any defects of building, furniture, fittings and equipment to the management.
Skills and Qualifications
- 3 years of experience as a caretaker in a reputable organisation
- Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Fire Fighting & First aid desirable
- Knowledge of Electrical and plumbing
- Must be fluent in English & Swahili language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Must have skills in minor repairs and maintaining small equipments
- Organisation and supervision skills is a must
- Understanding technical information, building construction and design
- Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology
- Must be attentive to details
- Knowledge of industry changes in regards to issues affecting security
- Ability to maintain confidential information
