Our client, a leading trade association in the financial services sector in Kenya wishes to recruit suitable persons to fill the following position:
 
Manager - Research, Public Relations & Education

Overall Purpose: The incumbent will provide market research information (research papers) to assist members of the Association in the development and implementation of new products and markets in the insurance industry, develop and implement public education programmes and campaigns purposely to increase awareness about insurance and its benefits. 

In addition, he/she will be responsible for collecting, compiling, analyzing and availing market data for use in the Association’s publications and the website.
 
Job Profile:
  • Plan, implement and evaluate research programmes.
  • Provide market research input (research papers) towards the association’s strategic marketing plan, image management and aid in the development and implementation of new products and markets in the insurance industry.
  • Ensure timely production of the association’s quarterly bulletin, insurance journal and other documents.
  • Ensure timely production of market data for input in the association’s publications (annual reports, journals etc) corporate presentations, website and using this data to update historical market reports.
  • Prepare corporate presentations for public education when called upon by the Chief Executive Officer and/or Heads of Department.
  • Supervise data collection through ICT department and ensure thorough analysis to make tangible recommendations for insurance industry and/or trends.
  • Plan, design, coordinate and implement comprehensive insurance education programmes aimed at providing information about the association’s requirements to key players and stakeholders.
  • Conduct needs assessment and baseline surveys to determine the actual information needs of specific target groups in order to design and produce brochures, posters, newsletters, magazines, books and other publications to address problems and questions that individuals may have regarding insurance industry.
Person Profile:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, preferably Marketing.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Insurance Industry will be an added advantage.
  • At least (7) years working experience as a market researcher, business/ investment analyst, product/business development officer in a financial market with three (3) years in supervisory level.
  • Ability to develop plans, programs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) and coordination of workflows.
  • Project management skills and creativity.
