Rural Kenya.
Duration
Minimum 2 years commitment, full-time job.
Organization Description
Most of the world's poor are farmers, representing the largest and most uniform group of poor people in the world. One Acre Fund is a growing social enterprise in Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania that is innovating a new way of helping farm families to achieve their full potential. Instead of giving handouts, One Acre Fund invests in farmers to generate a permanent gain in farm income. We provide farmers with a "service bundle" that includes education, finance, seed and fertilizer, and market facilitation. Our program is proven impactful – every year, we weigh thousands of harvests and measure 50-100% average gain in farm income per acre. We have laser-like focus on generating better lives for the people that we serve.
Job Description

- Country-Wide Professional Development: At One Acre Fund, we hire staff from the rural communities we serve and provide them with the training and mentorship they need to become leaders in their communities. Our Senior Field Directors manage hundreds of staff and thousands of beneficiaries – every one of them started as an entry-level Field Officer and grew to their current position through mentoring, professional experience, and rigorous classroom exercises. The Training Department Associate will support the Training Department Manager in revising and implementing a tiered curriculum designed to support staff at all levels of the organization in meeting their full potential.

The Training Department Associate will design and implement world-class curriculum and will partner with other departments to support their curriculum needs.
- Training of Trainers: One Acre Fund implements quality trainings to over 2,000 staff through its Training of Trainers program. The Training Department Associate, in collaboration with the Training Department Manager will revise, implement, and evaluate the Training of Trainers program to ensure all trainings meet One Acre Fund’s high standards.
- Assessment, Monitoring and Evaluation: One Acre Fund holds all staff to a high standard in everything we do – our farmers deserve nothing less. The Training Department is no exception. The Training Department Associate will be responsible for assessing immediate learning outcomes at all levels of the organization and for evaluating the long-term impact of the Training Department.
- Management and Mentorship: The Training Department is comprised of six full-time staff members across two provinces. The Training Department Associate will take primary responsibility for the mentorship and development of our team as they take on greater and more complicated responsibilities.
