Foundation for Indigent Students of Africa (FISA) is a non - profit continent - wide organization registered in Kenya.

The organization is offering scholarships for specialization in advanced communication to African students from poor backgrounds to earn higher degrees from the University of Nairobi (UoN) School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Eligibility:

Applicants should:

(a) have a 1st Class Honors or 2nd Class Upper Division at Bachelors level in their respective area of specialization from an accredited university (degree certificate must be certified by the UoN)

(b) have an admission letter from UoN

(c) at least C+ in "O" level

(d) Be African citizens

(e) Not exceed 35 years of age

(f) have evidence of coming from humble background.

Terms of Scholarship:

(a) Tuition fee paid to UoN of Ksh. 280,000

(b) Stipend and research grant of Ksh. 100,000

(c) Beneficiaries should be bonded to serve FISA as interns during the duration of their course and at least one year upon successful completion of their courses

(d) Successful Masters Applicants will be expected to assist FISA in implementing her programs or be deployed to affiliated institutions.

NB. Positive terminal progress reports from the institution of study shall guarantee continuance of the scholarships.

Application forms should be downloaded from the FISA website under "Apply for Scholarships"

Applicants should send two copies of fully filled application forms quoting the Advert Ref. No. each enclosing copies of

(a) academic and professional certificates

(b) national identity cards or passports

(c) detailed and updated CV

(d) a motivational essay of 500 words containing precise reason for needing a FISA scholarship

(e) two letters of reference stating academic excellence and discipline, professional potential, leadership potential, community service and pan-African ideals.

NB: Applicants should request their referees to download and complete Form B3 and submit them directly to the FISA address indicated under "Apply for Scholarships" in the FISA website so as to reach us not later than 15th September 2011.
