We are looking for an energetic, experienced and self-motivatedOnline Writing Coordinator who is ready to start working immediately:-
Routine writing tasks shall include:
- Research, write , edit and verifying the factual content from scratch using the preferred methods;
- Selecting subject matter based on client`s interest, or commissioned by a publisher or agent;
- Developing the written works while maintaining originality;
- Using literary skills to develop articles, papers and other academic works;
- Rewriting and adapting material (and sometimes the work of others) for alternative formats;
- Ghost writing - writing for others under the other person's name;
- Encouraging and acting upon critical feedback in the most appropriate manner to orders;
- Being prepared to rewrite and revise work (often several times) following feedback;
- Proofread final draft of content as per requested formats;
- Approving and submitting final material for orders in the required and expected format;
Competencies
Essential
- Good understanding of academic and online writing regime,
- General knowledge of communication and development issues,
- Excellent communication – spoken and written skills in English and Kiswahili,
- Good understanding of different types of writing formats: MLA, APA,
- Proven ability to meet deadlines with a high level of creativity and flexibility.
Desirable
- Be willing to work overtime (Weekends inclusive),
- Honest and reliable,
- Ability to meet tight deadlines, especially for online job orders,
- Ability to write reports accurately,
- Leadership skills and ability to coordinate teams,
Qualifications and experience
- Degree in Information Science /Communications/ Journalism or related field,
- Minimum work experience of 2 years' with proven skills in writing.
