Kenya Tea Packers Limited seeks to recruit a qualified Kenyan citizen to fill the following position:
 
Assistant Factory Manager
 
Reporting to the Factory Manager, the holder will perform the following duties:
- Assist in formulating factory production, implement and control production processes.
 - Participate actively in sourcing of appropriate grade of teas, liaise with suppliers of loose teas, and maintain records of supplies and stocks accordingly.
 - Liaise with the Quality Controller on receiving, blending and packing functions to ensure maintenance of required quality standards.
 - Play a key role in implementation and maintenance of ISO, HACCP and any other quality assurance systems that the company may undertake.
 - Implement plans that ensure efficient and effective utilization of plant equipment and machines.
 - Actively participate in new product development.
 - Implement and review adherence to occupational safety and health regulations.
 - Ensure good employee relations in the factory.
 
Qualifications and Competencies
 
Academic qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering or Food Science, chemistry or equivalent.
 
Professional qualifications
- Computer literacy Qualified Tea Taster.
 - People management skills
 - Experience in implementation of ISO 9001 and 22000
 
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ working experience in tea processing, blending and/or packaging.
