AFEX Group Recreation Assistant Job in Kenya

AFEX wishes to recruit a competent, innovative and self-driven person to fill the following position:
 

Recreation Assistant

Work as part of multidisciplinary teams engaged in providing leisure, exercise and fitness services to the public.

Essentially, recreation assistants are vital in making sure leisure and fitness centres are running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the promotion of recreational or fitness activities
• Administrative tasks maintaining equipment and facility areas planning events, the latter involves making sure everything complies with regulatory guidelines pertaining to cleanliness, hygiene and health and safety standards.
• Responsible for assisting with the organisation of special one-off sporting events and handling customer queries over the telephone, both in person and via email.
• Understanding that health and safety is always of paramount importance in leisure and fitness centres. Consequently, you may be required to work as a lifeguard or provide basic first aid for customers in the case of emergency.
• A recreation assistant organizes activities for the client e.g organizes board games for senior citizens and arranges basketball tournaments for athletic clubs.
• Ensure all activities are well-structured, safe and enjoyable.
• Ensure all recreational facilities: Gym equipments, outdoor areas, coffee shop, dinning, TV rooms are clean and maintained to a high standard
• Helps to explain and enforce the rules for activities and events.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Physical Education
• 3 years’ experience working in a similar job
• Willingness to work in a remote location
• Have good communication skills
• Be a Team player, Respect and integrity
