Assistant Graphic Designer Job in Kenya

Saman Associates is currently in the process of recruiting anAssistant Graphic Designer for one of our clients. 

The incumbent will provide support in the creation of design solutions with high visual impact as well as provide support in promoting companies visual “brands” offline and online.

Key responsibilities include:

• Working together with the Graphic Designer to interpret the client’s business needs and developing a concept to suit their needs;
• Providing creative input to produce new ideas and concepts;
• Together with the Graphic Designer, innovatively redefining a design brief;
• Working with a wide range of media, including photography and computer-aided design (CAD) or Web Design Joomla, Wordpress and PHP maybe an added advantage
• Demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches;
• Working on layouts and artworking pages ready for print;
• Keeping abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programs such as QuarkXPress, FreeHand, Illustrator, Photoshop, 3ds Max, Acrobat, Director, Dreamweaver and Flash;
• With the support of the Graphic Designer, developing interactive designs;
• Working as part of a team with copywriters, photographers, stylists, illustrators, other designers, account executives, web developers and marketing specialists and printers.

The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:

• Post Graduate Diploma in Graphic Design coupled with professional course certificate in desktop publishing or website development and management.
• One (1) year hands on experience in a mid to large sized creative design agency involved in development of both brand management, below and above the line advertising for Fast Moving Consumer Goods FMCG’s amongst other sectors as well as development of online solutions.
• Up-to-date knowledge of industry software
• Exceptional creative and innovative skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong time management skills and ability to cope with several projects at a time
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written skills
