Manager - Wholesale Reporting and Special Projects
 

Ref: FIN – MWRSP– OCTOBER- 2012

Reporting to the Senior Manager- International Carrier & Wholesale Relation; the successful candidate will be responsible for  analysing all the wholesale streams activities and provide relevant reporting and business modelling for the section to ensure projects are well justified and enhance performance monitoring, reporting and fulfilment of the planned targets and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Business cases for all wholesale reviews or Projects to aid in informed decision making;
  • Carry out interconnect rates and margin analysis of the various interconnection partners and undertake negotiations for termination rates with these partners to ensure acceptable margins;
  • Manage the wholesale special projects ensuring that all the responsible parties perform their tasks and report progress and escalate any bottlenecks for further action;
  • Participate in company projects and cost saving initiatives in relation to wholesale or where wholesale forms a key input;
  • Analyse the performance of all the wholesale activities in line with the set targets and generate weekly or monthly performance report; Gauge performance against set targets; specifically against wholesale targets;
  • Monitor the costs and margins for the entire wholesale streams and escalate adverse trends that requiring urgent remedial action;
  • Participate in the setting of financial targets and re-forecast for the respective financial year cycles;
  • Liaise with Finance to ensure submitted plans are in line with the agreed forecast;
  • Coordinate with the relevant parties to ensure that the wholesale revenues are reported correctly and that the source data is synchronised and harmonised to ensure correct capturing of the revenues and costs;
  • Develop and maintain all wholesale quality monitoring and tracking dashboard to ensure that this enhances wholesale impacts on CDI and works out with PMO office wholesale deliverable or responsibilities to enhance the CDI.

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and competencies:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or Business or Economics or related degree from a recognized University;
  • 4-5 years experience in analysis using key tools such as excel spread sheet, report preparation, costing, and  planning;
  • Experience in telecommunications industry and sound knowledge of International Telecommunications  Services is a mandatory requirement;
  • Knowledge of interconnection and roaming will be an added advantage;
  • Computer proficiency -Ms Word, Excel, Power-point, Access, and MS project is a mandatory requirement.
  • High resilience and have impeccable character with good communication skills;
  • Excellent report writing skills;
  • Have a positive approach to ensuring complete customer satisfaction;

Duties and Responsibilities


Reporting to the Board of Directors and being the Chief Executive of the Company, the Managing Director will have the following duties and responsibilities;

  • Accountable for the overall performance of the company and for the day-to-day running and management of the company’s business;
  • Steer the Company to higher business growth and profitability;
  • Develop and present the strategic and annual business plans;

Requirements

 
Applicants must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, science, business or any other related degree from a recognized University;
  • At least ten (10) years of proven experience in manufacturing or related fields at senior management level;
  • Demonstrated experience in change management and innovation;
  • A proven track record of high integrity and ethical practice with experience in human resource management, networking and resource mobilization;
  • Skills and experience in strategic thinking, planning and management as well as team player with excellent managerial, organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Good communicator with good report writing skills, interpretation and understanding of financial issues, legal documents, customer needs and negotiation skills;
  • Familiarity with the government financial operations and the country’s development plans particularly Kenya Vision 2030 and
  • Membership to a professional body

Terms & Conditions of Service

B: REF. NMC/FM/2012- Finance Manager


Reports to: Managing Director
Responsible for administration of the company’s accounting, financial, planning and tax functions.


Key Tasks

Duties responsibilities will entail:

  • Supervising Finance and Accounts functions
  • Developing and implementing effective financial management systems and procedures
  • Report on the Company’s performance and prepare quarterly financial reports covering areas such as operational effectiveness, budget trends and variances as well as cost control initiatives for the Managing Director and the Board of Directors.
  • Preparation of the Company’s budget estimates
  • Preparing financial reports, statements and accounting records.
  • Maintaining and updating records on the Company’s assets and liabilities
  • Coordinating the preparation of tax returns and compliance with other statutory obligations
  • Interpreting and implementing Government policies relating to the financial management of the Company
  • Preparing and presenting proposed budgets to the finance committee for Treasury approval

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Managing the Company’s Internal Audit Unit.
  • Examining and inspecting activity records, accounting systems and procedures to determine their efficiency.
  • Ensuring the Company’s policies are complied with.
  • Providing leadership in the conducting of special audits.
  • Evaluating progress and status of steps taken to address any current and past recommendations by external Auditors.
  • Participating and guiding the various internal audit committees.
  • Advising the management on risk management.

Reporting to: The Managing Director


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales and marketing plans and strategies for local and export markets;
  • Ensure high levels of company visibility in the market;
  • Set targets and sales forecasts and ensure they are achieved;
  • Device and support the company’s distribution strategies;
  • Establish and maintain good corporate relations and implement a customer care management program;

The Kenyan Forest Service has set out to develop institutional capacity for central GIS and remote sensing hub to support the sustainable management of forest through modern technology.


This will require remotely sensed data in a distributed GIS system to allow field staff to undertake forest resources assessment


Key Responsibilities:

  • Development and management of forest cover monitoring system
  • Setting of standards for collection, input and storage of remotely sensed data for detecting forest cover changes and forest health arising from deforestation, forest degradation and enhanced forest conservation programmes
  • Coordinate gathering, analysis and modeling of remotely sensed forest data
  • Produce periodical updates of forest cover and forest cover change (change detection)
  • Assist in building the required capacity for conducting forest resource assessment through remote sensing technology and maintain forest resource database.

Required Qualifications, Experience & Key Competencies

  • Master of Science degree in either Geo-Informatics, or Remote Sensing from an accredited university

  • Design and development of databases
  • Harmonization of all forest resources databases
  • Setting of standards for resource geo-data storage and management
  • Management and Administration of database(s) within KFS
  • Manage data import / export and ensure data integrity / data quality
  • Produce data reports and data mining queries
  • Implement approved data sharing and security arrangements
  • Perform the necessary technical design and development functionality to ensure that application systems can be effectively developed and implemented.

Required Qualifications, Experience & Key Competencies


The candidate should have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Postgraduate training with Masters degree in Geo-spatial Information Systems or equivalent from an accredited university
  • Bachelors Degree in geo-informatics or computer technology from an accredited university is a must
  • Experience with Linux Server Operating System
