Senior Core CS Planning Engineer

We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in the Network Engineering Department within the Technology Division. 

In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:
 
Reporting to the Senior Manager- Core Network - the holder of the position will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to the planning and design of Core MSS, MGW, TMSS, TMGW, SBC, IMS, NVS, LTE systems and integration to Core CS platform. 

The role holder will conduct the evaluation of new and existing hardware; Planning & design for new solutions; Implementation and integration of new hardware/software; Project management; Optimization of existing systems and Internal Process Improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create KPI for new products/services;
  • Create Marketing proposals, CS Vendor evaluation process for weighted evaluation for new hardware, features and services;
  • Analyze Core CS network on a daily basis against set KPIs;
  • Design Core CS network for new elements to be added;
  • Minimize network and service impact for any change;
  • Schedule all the planned works;
  • Update handover system configuration documentation after software/hardware upgrades;
  • Configure data for new systems with vendor engineer;
  • Create necessary work instruction for existing systems;
  • Conduct S.W.O.T Analysis of Projects;
  • Provide recommendation reports to Identify opportunities for improvement and optimization of existing services;
  • Create a tool/find out methods to get statistical data from the system;
  • Analyze the effect of a new/improvement change before & after implementation;
  • Setup Internal training;
  • Transfer knowledge to Technicians;
  • Build internal and external relationships with key customers and suppliers to deliver continuous quality solutions to business;
  • Manage projects under the control of the Core CS Team;
  • Manage day to day activities of projects and project tasks assigned to the Core CS Team.
Role Requirements;
  • Degree in one of the following: Telecommunications Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science/IT;
  • 5+ years of direct Network Engineering/Network Support experience in a busy Service Provider environment;
  • Expert knowledge of CS Networks, with complex integrations and features;
  • Problem solving and Analytical Skills;
  • Strong skills and experience with, MSS, MGW,SBC, TMSS and TMGW;
  • Extensive knowledge of SS7 Signaling and GSM Protocols (ISUP, MAP, CAP, BICC etc.).

Our client is seeking to recruit 2 Accountants who  shall be responsible in executing day to day activities that relate to finance in the and administration. 

Such shall include cash flow management, effective credit control, procurement processing payments in time, posting the relevant journal entries in the accounting system accurately, filling statutory returns, proper book keeping and supporting documentation for all transactions and reporting on monthly basis.

The incumbent shall be reporting to the Group Finance Manager.

Roles

  • Timely raising of LPOs and following up on deliveries for supplies within agreed timelines.
  • Raising payment requisitions with all relevant documentation appended.
  • Raising petty cash vouchers requisitions for approval by Group Finance Manager
  • Reconciliation of vendor accounts on monthly basis.
  • Invoicing.
  • Debtor’s accounts reconciliation and circulation of statements of accounts on monthly basis.
  • Credit control.
  • Raising Capital Expenditure requisitions
  • Posting of Journal entries in the system and forwarding to Group Finance Manager for approval.
  • Timely filing of statutory returns (Income tax returns, VAT returns, With held Tax returns & Corporate tax returns).
  • Proper filling of documentation.
  • Inventory management.
  • Preparing monthly financial reports and analysis.(Receivables reports, payables &bank reconciliation).
  • Ensure availability of facility supplies at all times and timely renewal of licences and insurance covers.
  • Participate in annual budget consolidation process.   
Academic Qualifications
 
Applicant needs to have attained at least the following qualifications.
  • Bachelor of Commerce/Economics degree with a major in Accounts or Finance.
  • At least 2 years experience working in a busy commercial organization.
  • CPA Part 11
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and financial reporting skills.
  • Able to work under minimum supervision with ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Team player & respectful to fellow employees.
