Job Title: Plant Technician

Purpose of the position:

To conduct mechanical repairs of the equipments and work together with the other drilling crew to drill/rehabilitate boreholes in accordance to WVK, WRMA,NEMA, and other stakeholders standards, in order to facilitate provision of potable water for household livelihoods, thus contributing to the attainment of child well being outcomes

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
  • Grade 1 certificate in Mechanics or Technician diploma in Automotive Engineering from a recognized institute,
  • At least 8 years experience in repairs and maintenance of diesel engine vehicles.
  • At least 2 years experience in drilling work.
  • Valid BCE class driving license and at least 3 years experience in driving Lorries, buses or rigs.
  • Good team player, self starter, has ability to work under minimum supervision and maintain good relationships

Job Description

Reporting to the Publisher/Director, the Chief Editor will be in charge of:
  • The day-to-day running of both print and online editions.

Job Title: Implementation Engineer / Senior Implementation Engineer

Reporting To: Team Manager

Job Location: Nairobi
Eligible Nationalities: Kenyans

Key Areas of Responsibility

1. Prepare necessary tools and software so that it can be used for customer site installations.

This includes but not limited to:
  • Ensure all configurations are built to comply with technical design authority and internal standard requirements.
  • Ensure all facets/modules of the software meet client requirements.
  • All facets of the deployment are built/developed/configured in line with project timescales.
  • Keep project team updated with daily progress reports on any assigned actions.
2. Support the installation of sites during project roll out, this includes but it is not limited to:
  • Contacting the field engineer at the specified time and ensuring the installation and deployment document is followed.
  • Ensuring all modules and functionalities are tested fully and that failover solution works if applicable.
  • Pass out any faults and manage the escalation to the right team to resolution/fix of faults.
  • Carry out and document all of the site specific testing.
  • Being able to trouble shoot any issues that arise during the deployment whether it be part of the testing or reported by the customer.
3. If needed, liaise with the solution architect in order to resolve issues.

4. Ensure deployment signoff is signed by customer and have authority to leave site post deployment.

5. Provide feedback to your technical team leader/manager on any current processes that you feel could be improved or escalations.

6. Produce all the necessary documentation in order to hand projects over to BAU

7. Ensure time sheets are submitted on daily basis.

8. Provide inputs on error on work packs/template, if any, for improvements.

9. Update/provide daily tracker sheets to team leader

Key Performance Indicators:
  • Complete implementation tasks within SLA .
  • Complete documentation related to implementation task and do all relevant Quality checks.
  • Participates in process improvement.
Contact With Others:
  • (internal) Attending project meetings where the project manager/coordinator have requested your presence and inputs
  • (external) - Cellulant customers
Required Skills and Competencies

Academic Qualifications:
  • Degree qualifications in Computer Science (BE/BTECH)
  • Programming certifications
  • Database management certifications
  • Networking certifications(CCNA)
Experience:
  • 2-5 years working experience in similar role.
  • Strong software development background.
Specific Knowledge & Skills Requirements:
  • Able to demonstrate when required a sound level of understanding across a broad range of technical subjects and able to apply this knowledge to customer's specific requirements.
