Job Purpose

Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Actively participate as a member of medical team in the delivery of optimum treatment and patient care

Qualification and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in medicine
  • Minimum 2 years experience in clinical work – technical experience in public health preferably with HIV/TB control programs an added advantage

APHIAplus KAMILI is a five year (2011-2015) health service delivery project funded by the U.S Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented in Eastern and Central provinces of Kenya by a consortium of partners led by Jhpiego, an affiliate of the Johns Hopkins University. 

The other partners are AMREF, CHAK, ICAP, KRC, Land O’ Lakes, LVCT, NOPE, and PATH. 

The project contributes to the USAID strategic goal of ‘Sustained improvement of health and well-being for all Kenyans’ by increasing the use of quality health services, products and information and addressing social determinants of health to improve the well-being of marginalized, poor and underserved populations.

APHIAplus KAMILI is currently seeking for a Chief of Party with excellent leadership and technical skills, with proven track record, who is a team player, dedicated, hardworking, innovative, highly motivated and willing to inspire others and to work in a high pressure environment requiring multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead APHIAplus KAMILI strategy formulation including development of roles and responsibilities of various partners
  • Provide overall leadership and technical guidance for the program
  • Provide overall guidance and direction for the project and supervision of field offices, staff and overall management of the project
  • Serve as Jhpiego’s key liaison with USAID, government counterparts, implementing partners and other local organizations
  • Ensure overall program, financial and monitoring objectives for the project are achieved, including implementation of annual work plans, dissemination of results and sharing of best practices
  • Work closely with partners and program teams to ensure quality evidence-based implementation of the project
  • Review and/or contribute to reports and other project deliverables (e.g. annual, semi-annual, performance monitoring reports, etc.)
Qualifications
  • MD or PhD (with a graduate degree in Public Health or related field)
  • Ten or more years at leadership level
  • Extensive knowledge of HIV/AIDS health programs and health service delivery in Kenya
  • Must also be familiar with other health areas such as RH/FP, TB and MNCH
  • Excellent analytical, oral and report- writing skills
  • Experience in managing a collaboration of partners and work in a team-oriented setting
  • Experience working with MOH systems and personnel
  • Experience working on USAID-funded projects is an asset
  • Ability to communicate effectively, instilling trust and confidence
  • Computer literacy, particularly in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Credit Controller

Reporting directly to The Finance Manager. He/She will be responsible for implementing and maintaining an efficient and effective credit control system for the company with the goal of optimizing the mix between cash sales and credit Sales. 

He/She will be accountable for the consistent application of the company credit policy, periodic credit reviews on existing customers, and the credit assessment of potential customers within the laid down company procedures.

Key Accountability / Result Areas
  • Oversee the overall management of the credit control function and the sales ledger.
  • Review and approve all processed invoices, credit memos and cash receipts while ensuring that they are processed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure properly reconciled customer statements are issued monthly and sent out to individual customers.
  • Perform regular credit assessments on customer accounts to ensure credit limits are not exceeded as provided by the credit policy.
  • Ensure the correctness of the sales ledger through proper reconciliation of customer accounts and speedy resolution of any matters relating to customer accounts.
  • Continuously monitor invoicing prices to ensure that customers are invoiced according to the approved price list.
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly accounts receivable schedules.
  • Provide guidance and supervision of the staff members in the section through coaching and mentoring.
Qualification and Competencies
  • A Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business administration or a related field.
  • Full professional accounting qualifications e.g. CPA(K), ACCA.

Reporting directly to The General Sales Manager, your principal accountability will be:-
  • Preparation, planning and executing sales and market coverage programs.

Yard Supervisor
 
Key Accountability / Result Areas

Reporting directly to The Operations Superitendent, your principal accountability will be:-
  • Ensure that customers’ containers are off-loaded in a timely manner, while ensuring that they meet the stipulated quality standards.
  • Ensure the proper issuance of containers to the production supervisors for bottling operations.
  • Supervise the checking and sorting of containers in the Company’s yard, while ensuring minimum breakages and the isolation of non-conforming containers.
  • Preparation of off-loading reports that will ensure that the Company’s records are properly maintained in line with Coca-Cola requirements and ISO Standards.
  • Maintain accurate daily, weekly and monthly records of containers and other materials stored in the yard.
  • Supervise staff in the yard and continually train them on better container handling procedures, while ensuring they meet the set targets.
Qualification and Competencies
  • Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised University, preferably business related.
  • Diploma in Supply Chain/Operations /Logistics/Warehouse management is desirable.
  • At least three years experience in supply chain in a busy business environment, preferably in the FMCG Sector.
  • Well developed planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills and computer literate.

  • In view of the unique nature of this University, a PhD holder with more than 15 years’ experience in co-operative development and management will be considered;
  • Be well published and academic leaders ¡n their areas of specialization OR demonstrate ability to produce results;
  • Have at least ten (1 0) years of academic and research experience at senior level and possess demonstrated capacity for leadership in an academic and/or research institution or corporate;
  • Be familiar with national, regional and global current trends of policies governing higher education;
  • Demonstrate ability to plan,develop and implement academic programs and institutional linkages;
