  • Those with a Law degree will have an added advantage

Legal Counsel

Duties and Responsibilities

A Legal Counsel shall be responsible to Director, Legislative Procedures & Committee Services. 

The duties and responsibilities shall include:
  • Drafting of Private Members’ Bills
  • Drafting of amendments to Bills to be proposed to the Assembly by any Member of the County Assembly or any Committee of the County Assembly
  • Giving legal interpretation to Acts and Bills and generally giving legal advice on matters relating to the County Assembly
  • Providing legal advice to the County Assembly Service Board, the County Assembly and its Committees
  • Providing any other legal services that may be required by the Committees, the Speaker, the County Assembly Service Board or the Clerk of the County Assembly
  • Ensuring that Bills passed by the County Assembly comply with the Constitution
Requirements for Appointment
  • Have a Bachelor of Law degree;
  • Has been admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya;

To document the County heritage and history for future generations in accordance with the national collections documentation strategy for public access.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Document the collections held in store and on display at the Assembly and elsewhere in the County including task planning, reconciliation of paper and computer records,
  • entering information on to computer from paper records,
  • reconciling computer records with objects on display and in store, photography, and liaising with other staff
  • Undertaking data cleaning and preparation of records for on-line public access.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Source for orders directly from customers
  • Arranging appointments with doctors, pharmacists, procurement officers and hospital medical teams;
  • Making presentations to doctors, practice staff and nurses, hospital doctors and pharmacists in the retail sector;
  • Building and maintaining positive working relationships with medical staff and supporting administrative staff;
  • Keeping detailed records of all contacts, maintaining an updated database of all clients;

The ideal candidate
  • The candidate must have excellent communication skills i.e. fluent in both English and Kiswahili (written and spoken).
  • A diploma in veterinary or pharmacy from a reputable, PPB certified institution is an added advantage. Non-medical practitioners with progressive sales/marketing experience in the health sector shall also be considered.
  • Must be a go-getter who knows how to close sales and build an empire of good customers.
  • At least a diploma level training in sales and marketing will be an asset
  • Ability to sell through an integrated computer system e.g. Pharmacore or Pharmasoft etc.
  • A person of un-questionable integrity (referees MUST recommend on this aspect).
  • Organization, planning, analytical and interpersonal skills are paramount requisites.
  • Ability to deliver results independently with minimal supervision.
