CRWRC Disaster Risk Reduction Specialist Job in Kenya

Location: Kenya

Term: Six months

Start date: 15th / June / 2011

Duties

• Develop project plans and avail them to partners in required format(s)
• Coordinate project related DRR activities, reports, formats and requirements for clear understanding by all parties
• Carry out research and knowledge development in the field of DRR .
• Regular field assessments, conduct trainings on emergency preparedness and response.
• Conduct DRR community outreach and mobilization

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in Community Development or related field (Masters degree in DRR or Natural Resources Management preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years work experience in the field of DRR
• Experience in research, documented record of publication in the field of DRR preferred
• Fluency in English and Swahili
• Excellent Inter personal skills
• Ability to work in multi –cultural settings
• Flexible and able to work within short deadlines
• Experience with Christian/church-based NGOs
• Computer skills including MS Office, power point, and excel
• High integrity and commitment to biblical Christian values and truths
