The Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM)– the representative organization for manufacturing value-add industries in Kenya is seeking to competitively fill the following position:

Executive Officer – Energy Services

The position calls for a highly results-oriented individual able to leverage his or her experience to deliver and expand the scope of energy efficiency as an excellent business benefit for end users.

Working alongside an equally capable team at the Centre for Energy Efficiency and Conservation (CEEC) based at KAM, the position holder will ensure that energy issues receive the requisite attention to assist consumers to implement energy conservation measures in order to make profitable use of energy and thus improve their bottom lines.

The Executive Officer will report to the CEEC Coordinator.

Duties & Responsibilities
·       Jointly with Energy Services Executive Officer, provide key support on energy efficiency for the benefit of industry and other target sectors;
·       Jointly with Energy Services Executive Officer, provide technical advice issues related to firm level energy efficiency including quality control on the General Energy Audits and Investment Grade Audits carried out
·       Advise and Lobby for the provision of affordable and reliable electricity for industrial consumers
·       Represent KAM at energy related meetings
·       Jointly with Energy Services Executive Officer, respond to queries raised by members on the energy related issues
·       Jointly with Energy Services Executive Officer, liaise with the Association of Large Electricity Consumers (AOLEC) to ensure concerns of the greater KAM membership are represented to the Government.
·       Offer technical advice on all projects located at CEEC
·       Verify requests for energy audits and determine the potential for energy saving;
·       Conduct follow-up visits to audited companies so as to facilitate implementation
·       Respond to queries raised by members on the energy efficiency related issues;
·       Conduct various Energy Efficiency related studies and analytical documentation of the study results
·       Handle technical issues relating to Energy Management Award
·       Handle energy related advocacy issues including making presentations to the Ministry of Energy, power generators, distributors and regulators.
·       Assist in expanding the scope of the CEEC so as to create more awareness on energy efficiency
·       Assist industry to link up with Energy service providers to facilitate energy audits and support implementation of energy efficiency projects in their facilities
·       Maintain information database on energy efficiency
·       Organise and facilitate meetings with relevant committees/councils and ensuring follow up of agreed actions;
·       Represent KAM in energy efficiency related meetings.
·       Any other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Executive
Requirements:
·       University degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Energy Engineering from a recognized institution
·       CEM Certification will be an added advantage
·       Computer proficiency
·       Minimum 8 years of professional working experience.
·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·       Ability to think outside the box
·       Effective organizational skills
·       Team player
·       Attention to detail
·       Knowledge of the industrial sector
