Alpha Logistics Services (EPZ) is seeking to recruit the following positions:

Site Engineer

2 Positions

Job Purpose:

Work as part of the site management team, liaising with and working alongside architects, engineers, construction managers, supervisors, planners, surveyors and subcontractors.

Responsible for site security, health and safety, and the organization and supervision of material and human resources.

Key Responsibilities

·       Reporting to the Senior Engineer,

·       Setting Out, with Dumpy Level, Theodolite & Laser Level,

·       Engineering Control

·       Coordinate Formwork Set up and placement

·       Oversee placement of Reinforcement and check for 'pre-pour' inspection

·       Quantify Concrete requirements

·       setting out, leveling and surveying the site;

·       checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations;

·       ensuring all materials used and work performed are as per specifications;

·       overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant;

·       Control/supervision of labour crews and Equipment sets,

·       Quality Control measures on Concrete placement: Slump tests and Concrete Test Cubes

·       Oversee installation of Drainage, Septic Tanks, Soak pits, Hard stands, roadways and paved areas

Required qualifications & experience

·       Degree or higher in any construction discipline

·       2-3 years relevant experience working on site for a Construction Company.

·       Ability and Experience of using surveying Equipment: Dumpy level, Theodolite, Laser Level, etc.

·       must have construction industry experience relevant to the job position

·       Must be willing to relocate on a contract basis to areas where projects are.

·       There job location can be anywhere in the East and Central African region.

·       All candidates must provide with 3 Work references

General Foreman

5 Positions

Job Purpose:

Responsible for overseeing the Construction work and interacting with entire site team to ensure a smoothly run job on site throughout the work day.

Key Responsibilities

·       Assessing job priorities and assigning employees to appropriate job sites.

·       Making sure employees have tools and equipment needed for job in order to ensure a good output.

·       Overseeing the work and making sure it runs smoothly and as per the plan

·       Making sure safety precautions are followed including updating safety kits in case of any emergencies during the work.

·       Giving clear directions to workers as to what needs to be done to avoid repetitive mistakes by the workers

·       Making sure company rules are followed by team.

·       The foreman should ensure tools like sprayers, ladders, and traps are brought back from job sites.

·       Evaluate quickest and easiest way to a job without sacrificing quality of the work being done

·       Hold the weekly job site safety meeting and record a record of it in the log for future references.

·       Reporting to the Site Project Manager,

Required qualifications & experience

·       10 years relevant experience working on site for a Construction Company, with +5 years in a supervisory position.

·       Ability and Experience of using basic surveying/setting out Equipment: Dumpy level, Laser Level, etc.

·       Must possess relevant training in a construction discipline

Engineer Foreman

3 Positions

Job Purpose:

Work as part of the site management team, liaising with and working alongside architects, engineers, construction managers, supervisors, planners, surveyors and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

·       Similar to above requirements for Site Engineer & Site Foremen, but combined

·       Reporting to the Site Project Manager.

·       Overall control of an individual Construction Site,

·       Instruct, Coordination & Control all site activities:

1.   Direct labour force (both Kenyan and Foreign)

2.   Construction Equipment & Plant items,

3.   All Materials required on site

·       Progressing work in line with the agreed Construction Programme

·       Achieving quality construction standards in line with management guidelines,

·       Managing client issues and amendments

·       Managing Health & Safety procedures

Required qualifications & experience

·       Degree or higher in any construction discipline

·       2-3 years relevant experience working on site for a Construction Company.

·       Ability and Experience of using surveying Equipment: Dumpy level, Theodolite, Laser Level, etc.

·       must have construction industry experience relevant to the job position

·       Must be willing to relocate on a contract basis to areas where projects are.

·       There job location can be anywhere in the East and Central African region.

Finishing Foreman

3 Positions

Job Purpose:

Assist the Project Manager by taking responsibility for the furnishings of the project to bring it in on time and to budget.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Reporting to the Site Project Manager,

·       Must have vast finishing experience

·       Experienced in all aspects of the construction industry is an added advantage

·       Required to take construction project from Superstructure stage to completion and Handover

·       Coordination of Construction Equipment and Materials associated with the Labour Crews

·       Progress the works in line with the requirements of Senior Management

·       Achieve a high standard of quality in line with Senior Management's requirements

Required qualifications & experience

·       Relevant certificates/ training in a construction discipline

·       10 years relevant experience working on site for a Construction Company, with +5 years in a supervisory position. Must be willing to relocate on a contract basis to areas where projects are.

Construction Gangerman

3 Positions

Job Purpose:

To manage workforce and coordination of construction activities in various sites, ensure support is given to other site senior staff.

Key Responsibilities

·       Reporting to General Foreman & Site Project Manager

·       Coordination and Supervision of labour crew or multiple crews on a Construction Site,

·       Recording of basic Site information and daily Site records and Time Sheets

Required qualifications & experience

·       10 years relevant experience working on site for a Construction Company, with +5 years in a junior supervisory position.

·       Ability and Experience of using basic surveying/setting out Equipment: Dumpy level, Laser Level, etc would be an advantage but not essential,

·       Trade certificate in Building Discipline

Construction Equipment Mechanic

2 Positions

Job Purpose:

Provide service to and repair large machinery--like cranes and concrete mixers and other construction machinery and vehicles

Key Responsibilities

·       Review, inspection, repair & maintenance of all types of:

1.   Construction Equipment,

2.   Trucks and Trailers,

3.   Small Construction plant items,

4.   Motor Vehicles

Required qualifications & experience

·       Relevant experience working as a mechanic, preferably with +5 years with construction equipment.

·       Relevant training and certification in mechanics

Camp Manager

1 Position

Job Purpose:

To establish, manage and maintain all forms of accommodation for the Company ensuring an acceptable standard of living for employees of the Company at the sites .

Key Responsibilities

·       Reporting to the Site Project Manager

·       implement policies and procedures for daily operations

·       Supervision of all Camp facilities, to include but limited to:

1.   Accommodation, Kitchen & Dining area,

2.   Maintenance yard

3.   Security Guards

·       Ordering and Stock Control of all supplies and inventory within the camp

Required qualifications & experience

·       Do the usual general employment requirements:

·       Must have relevant qualifications,

·       Must have relevant construction site experience,

·       Must be able to work under own initiative,

·       Must be able to control, coordinate and motivate crews of construction labour,
