The position is with the Environmental Science division which is a business operation of Bayer CropScience.

Environmental Science focuses on Public Health products in the field of vector control. The primary business of Environmental Science in Sub-Saharan Africa is the distribution and sale of vector control products such as bednets, indoor residual sprays and other products for the prevention of Malaria, Schistosomiasis, Dengue and other vectorborne diseases.

The Position:

Reporting to the Head of Commercial and Operations, the Partnership Manager will be in charge of developing and nurturing a strong network among stakeholders based in Nairobi and ensuring Bayer Environmental Science (BES) visibility in the donor/NGO community, prospecting and developing new public-private partnerships, and will be in charge of key account management of large corporate clients in the mining, plantation and oil industries, among other duties.

He/she shall be responsible for the management of the complex relationships in publicly funded vector control projects and assist regional business managers to identify opportunities for partnering. The work with these stakeholders will be both national and regional and to be coordinated with headquarters in Lyon, France for the international context.

Minimum Qualification:
·       University degree coupled with experience in the NGO/Donor or health community and/or public relations (a minimum of 3 years)
·       Understanding of development issues of malaria, and public-private partnerships
·       Knowledge of public health issues and policies
·       Ability to negotiate complex bureaucratic protocols
·       Fluency in English with French a plus
·       Excellent computer skills
Critical Competences:
·       Strong analytical, strategic and negotiation skills
·       Well organized and a high level of autonomy with strong communication skills within the described work relations
·       Strong effective writing, reading and presentation skills.
