Founded in 1973, Ipas is a global nongovernmental organization dedicated to ending preventable deaths and disabilities from unsafe abortion.

Through local, national and global partnerships, Ipas works to ensure that women obtain safe, respectful and comprehensive reproductive health services.

Ipas has a number of vacant positions to be based at the African Alliance office in Nairobi.

The Ipas Africa Alliance is based in Nairobi and focuses on regional policy change and improving reproductive health programs in multiple Africa countries.

Position: Policy Manager and Programs Manager

These are mid- level management positions.

The Policy Manager reports to the Vice President for Africa while the Programs Manager reports to the Programs Director.

The managers’ roles include leadership in annual planning, ensuring completion and management of the annual work-plan, monitoring of activities and ensuring results as planned.

The manager plans and manages budgets in consultation with the finance manager and staff from programs and policy teams; supervises staff and consultants; compiles donor, annual and other reports.

She/he also contributes to donor proposals and other resource mobilization initiatives.

Requirements: An advanced relevant degree and 5+ years’ experience in project management and supervision. Experience with reproductive health programs preferred. Excellent planning, budgeting, communications and interpersonal skills. Experience in writing donor reports.

Position: Finance and Office Associate

The Finance and Office Associate reports to the Finance Manager.

She/he assists in the management of the Finance Unit by assuming direct responsibility for specific finance functions, operational functions, fund accounting and providing backup for other financial and office management tasks.

The Finance Associate exercises discretion and independent judgment in her/his role and is capable of handling communications with all levels of the global staff on financial, personnel and administrative issues.

Requirements:

Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Accounting, Commerce or related discipline.

Chartered Accountants (CPA) preferred plus a minimum 5 years’ experience as accountant, auditor or fiscal administrator for public or private entities;

Knowledge of fund accounting and regulations for international non-profit organizations.

Ability to work in diverse environments.

Strong communication and analytical skills

Position: Policy Coordinator

The policy coordinator reports to Policy Manager: She/he provides administrative support, maintains communication with team members and partners independently and collaboratively, participates in report writing and helps harmonize activities in the policy unit’s advocacy and policy related efforts.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in social science or equivalent, experience in program coordination and management of logistics. Good communication skills. Excellent administrative and budget preparing skills, and demonstrated computer skills.
