World Concern, an international faith-based NGO, wishes to recruit a qualified and competent individual to fill the position of Kenya Country Director.

The position which is based in Nairobi with travel to field project locations, reports to the Africa Area Director.

The primary functions for the position is to provide strategic leadership and management to World Concern’s disaster response and development work in Kenya.

The CD guides the development of sector initiatives within a coherent country strategy that is consistent with the organization priorities.

S/he champions the organizations mandate and builds institutional relationships that enable support to the entire program.

The Core Responsibilities will include program development, fundraising and the management of the programs.

Requirements for the position are as set out below:

  • Knowledge and Experience. Minimum Bachelors degree in related field and 3 years experience implementing relief and holistic development programs in a leadership role.

  • Facilitation skills-The ability to lead others in a participatory process
  • Ambiguity Tolerance-operates effectively with little information. Makes connections between apparently separate issues, seeing patterns, trends or relationships.
  • Stewardship-Makes the best use of resources while striving for high standards and a balance between effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Accountability-Welcomes objective evaluation of working relationships and performance of self and others. Has no hidden agendas but is open with information.
