1. Senior Engineer (Electrical)

Reporting to the Chief Engineer Electrical

Job Profile

Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Will be responsible for proper running of regions’ electrical installation.
  • Will coordinate repairs and maintenance of all electrical equipment/systems.
  • Prepare contract documents.
  • Ensure electrical project supervision in the region.
  • Supervise commissioning of new equipment in his/her area of jurisdiction and ensure that power generated is of acceptable voltage and frequency.
  • Will inspect all equipment in the region and ensure preventive maintenance of all electrical equipment is well scheduled, carried out and documented.
  • Prepare documentation for procurement of spare parts and attend to issues related to overall power supply and distribution matters to the company premises, housing estates and outstations.
Person Profile

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current option) from a recognized university.
  • Registered Engineer with Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
  • Corporate Membership of a relevant professional body such as IEK.
  •  Have served for a minimum of 7 years working experience in a technical busy organization.

2. Senior Corporate Communications Officer (Public Relations)

Overall Purpose

Responsible for enhancing the company’s corporate identity/image through
communication and promotion of goodwill and mutual understanding between the company and its various publics.

Job Profile

Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Act as a point of contact and liaison between KPC and various publics.
  • Provide strategic planning and leadership to enhance the corporate image of the company.
  • Evaluate grants and sponsorship requests and implement the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes.
  • Formulate and implement new PR programmes to help the company achieve its overall objectives.
  • Recommend and implement informational and promotional strategies (campaigns) for corporate and marketing purposes and design innovative PR and marketing promotional materials.
  • Originate and co-ordinate company displays and exhibitions for both corporate and market significance.
  • Write speeches for management in different fora.
  • Ensure standardization of all communication collateral e.g. speeches, press release, opinion pieces, briefing notes, power point presentations, photography, videographer, traditional and new media.
  • Regularly monitor the public’s perception of the company and report to management.
  • Ensure the organization get value for money in all its public relations investments.
  • Ensure the organizations events and activities are conducted to the best professional standards and are aligned with the overall corporate strategic plan and communications objectives.
Persons Profile

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Communication or Public Relations.
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum seven (7) years relevant experience.
  • Membership to a relevant professional body such as PRSK.
  • Applicants must be over 30 years
Key Competencies
  • Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Good Public Relations (PR), persuasion and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to show creativity, initiative and good judgment.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.

3. Senior Engineer (Health, Safety and Environment)

Reporting to the Chief Engineer (Health, Safety and Environment).

Job Profile

Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute Health, Safety and Environment audits.
  • Responsible for incidents investigation, interpreting technical plans, specifications and drawings.
  • Will be able to write technical reports, design and review of workplace safety systems, conducting HSE trainings, Health, Safety and Environment systems.
  • Effectively carry out workplace and environmental risk and control surveys.
  • Good understanding of both Local and International Health Safety and Environment Regulations applicable to petroleum industry.
  • Develop and execute environment assignments.
Person Profile

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in any appropriate engineering field from a recognized university.
  • A postgraduate qualification in Health, Safety and Environment.
  • Registered as a member with the relevant Health, Safety and Environment Institutions locally or internationally.
  • Registered Engineer with Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
  • Registered by the recognized Health, Safety and Environment organizations either locally and/or internationally or any other technical professional body recognized by the institution.
  • Have served for a minimum of 7 years working experience in a technical busy organization.
Key Competencies
  • Good understanding and application of Health, Safety and Environment regulations in petroleum industry.
  • Be a team player.
  • Good supervisory skills
  • Able to supervise and guide staff.
  • Good communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
4. Engineer I (Instrumentation & Control)

Reporting to the Senior Engineer (Instrumentation & Control)

Job Profile

Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Will be responsible for ensuring that all scheduled maintenance is carried out on time.
  • Ensuring break down maintenance is carried out without any delays and recommending spares for stock.
  • Will be responsible for writing regular maintenance reports.
  • Will be participating in projects implementation and liaising with other maintenance departments in carrying out cross-cutting maintenance works within the sub region.
Person Profile

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical and Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Have served for a minimum of 5 years in a busy organization.
  • Be Registered Engineer with EBK.
  • Be a Corporate Member to a relevant professional body.
Key Competencies
  • Have thorough knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Have proficiency in Computer Applications such as SAP.
  • Knowledge of PLC, SCADA and Fibre Optic Cable Systems will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated professional knowledge, competence, and ability to shoulder the professional duties and responsibilities.
  • Be computer literate.
  • Be a team player.
  • Able to supervise and guide staff.
5. Quantity Surveyor 1

Reporting to the Chief Engineer (Civil)

Job Profile

Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Study, interpret and take out quantities from engineering and architectural drawings and prepare estimates of proposed works based on Bills of Quantities.
  • Establish and prepare budget estimates for building and civil works.
  • Prepare contract documents such as Bills of Quantities schedule of materials and Specifications for use in submitting tenders and procuring quotations of materials for maintenance work.
  • Implement maintenance program for civil and building engineering facilities.
  • Carry out pre qualifications of contractors to be invited to tender for building and civil works.
  • Carry out analysis of tenders and preparation of evaluation reports on tenders and quotations received and advise on the prevailing material and labour market rates.
  • Carry out assessment and valuation of works for progress payment including preparation of payment certificates for civil and building works.
  • Carry out contract administration; deal with contract interpretation, variations, dispute resolutions and final statements.
Person Profile

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Building Economics or Quantity Survey from a recognized university.
  • Have relevant experience for a minimum of 5 years in a large and busy organization.
  • Be a registered Quantity Surveyor with the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS).
  • Must be a corporate member of a relevant professional body e.g. AAK, IQSK.
  • Have proficiency in Computer Applications such as Ms Office, SAP.
  • Must have strong well developed written and verbal communication.
  • Have thorough knowledge of Safety Regulations.
  • Is capable of organizing work and supervising workers.
6. Engineer II (Operations)

Reporting to the Depot Manager

Job Profile

Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Will maintain accurate and up to date data base of product movements in the pipeline system on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Will monitor system losses/gains and advice operations manager and depot manager.
  • Ensure that all custody transfer measurements are done accurately by performing cross checks between manual measurements and automated measurements and initiate the necessary corrective measure in liaison with Engineer I.
  • Prepare weekly batch tracking reports for all metered volumes with other methods of measurement. Product scheduling, planning design, development and operation of the pipeline, directing and controlling operations.
  • Undertaking more advanced master plan studies and complex operations of the pipeline.
  • Supervision of complex operations activities of the pipeline.
  • General administration, supervision and training of Assistant Engineers, Technicians, Operators and Artisans.
Person Profile

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of degree in engineering field such as Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical or its equivalent from a recognized university.
  • Have served for a minimum of 5 years in a busy organization.
  • Be registered with ERB at least as a graduate member.
  • Corporate Member of the Institute of Engineers of Kenya or Member of a Professional Engineering body recognized by the Institution.
Key Competencies
  • Be computer literate.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of safety regulations, operations and quality control procedures.
  • Demonstrated self initiative, professional diligence, competence to shoulder the professional duties and responsibilities.
  • Good planning and interpersonal skills.
  • Be a team player.
