As part of our expansion, we are looking to strengthen our international operations team by recruiting an experienced full time project manager. 


Project Manager

Mannion Daniels Ltd is seeking a dynamic and highly competent Project Manager, with experience in International development and preferably public health sector projects to join our UK based team. 

The Project Manager is a new position managing a large scale programme and a portfolio of smaller projects, predominately in Africa.

Working with the senior management team, in-country project teams and consultants, the successful candidate will draw on proven experience in implementing operational and financial management procedures, forming strong working relationships with diverse teams and ensuring the successful delivery of high quality projects.

This is a full time position reporting to the Head of Operations, based in Mannion Daniels UK office in Bath.



The Project Manager will have responsibility for a large scale programme in Nigeria and a portfolio of smaller projects, with responsibility for contract management, implementing our operational procedures, oversight of the work plan implementation, financial management, personnel management and monitoring and evaluation.

The Project Manager is a new UK based position that will work in close collaboration with in-country project teams and consultants.  


The Project Manager will report to the Head of Operations based in our UK office in Bath.  

Frequent short term travel (normally one to two weeks in duration) will be required as part of this job.

Specific Tasks
  • Provide operational backstopping to project staff and consultants on all aspects of project management, operations and financial procedures
  • Work closely with the Head of Operations and the Technical Manager to ensure accurate scheduling of activities and allocation of resources
  • Oversight and management of budgets in collaboration with the Technical Manager and the Head of Operations
  • Management of the work plan implementation, tracking keys dates and coordination of logistics for project teams
  • Ensure MannionDaniels operational procedures are correctly implemented and documented
  • Management and upkeep of Mannion Daniels contracts files
  • Implement Mannion Daniels procurement system, including contracting procedure and the development of terms of reference for consultants and sub-contractors
  • Implement MannionDaniels performance management and quality assurance process, including Contract Review meetings
  • Oversight of progress against contract deliverables
  • Oversight of progress against contractual performance indicators
  • Work in close collaboration with the Head of Finance and Head of Operations on invoice approval and payments process.
  • Participation in business development meetings
Person Specification
  • 5+ years experience in international development or related field
  • Experience in programme and financial management
  • Good team working and communications skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office
Reporting and Organisation:

This is a UK based position reporting to the Head of Operations with overseas travel on a regular basis. 


Mannion Daniels head office is based in Bath, UK.  Flexible working arrangements such as Telecommuting will be considered for the preferred candidate.

Salary & Package


Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Bath, UK
Basic Salary range: Circa. £30-35,000 (Subject to qualifications and experience)
Company Bonus: Discretionary based on Company performance
Holiday: 25 days per annum
Pension: Employer contribution currently 4% of basic salary
