Request for Expression of Interest to Undertake Programatic Environmental Assessment

Purpose

 
DAI, implementer of the USAID funded Transition Initiatives for Stabilization (TIS) Somalia Program; invites qualified firms or consultants to undertake PROGRAMATIC ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF TWO (2) BOREHOLES, TWO (2) WATER PANS AND A SLAUGHTER SLAB

As part of the Transition Initiatives for Stabilization programs, the sub grants will be developed to support and strengthen the local governmental capacities. These sub grants include drilling of boreholes, construction of water pans and construction of a slaughter slab.

The Environmental Impact Assessment Study for the TIS program requires that potential negative impacts be identified and mitigated in accordance with USAID Environmental Regulations. 

The following activities will be carried out in these respective districts in Somalia.
 
a) Drilling of a borehole in Dhobley
 
b) Drilling of a borehole in Geriley
 
c) Construction of a water pan in Kolbio
 
d) Construction of a water pan in Raskambooni
 
e) Construction of a Slaughter slab in Elwak
 
Interested firms/consultants should provide us with the following information when sending expression of interest. These includes:-
  • Profile and the qualification of the lead consultant who will undertake the PEA study
  • Firms or individuals interested in the study must be certified by relevant authorities.
  • Attach copy of certification
  • Previous experience in providing similar services in Somalia is preferred.
  • The firm must have the capacity in terms of equipment and personnel to provide the service.

Deadline for receipt of EOI’s is 23rd August, 2013 at 4:00 PM local time. 

Only firms whose Expression of Interest are received by the deadline will receive the Scope of work with detailed specification (s) and evaluation criteria for the PROGRAMATIC ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT.
