The Mombasa Hospital Jobs in Kenya: Medical Officers, Lab Manager, Lab Technologist, Records Technologist and Surgeon Assistant

The Mombasa Hospital, established in 1891, is a leading health care institution in the Coast Province. 

The Hospital is seeking for qualified Kenyan Citizens to fill the following positions:
 

Resident Medical Officers
 

Applicants should be Medical Practitioners registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board with at least 3 years’ post registration experience, preferably in a busy Emergency/Outpatient Department. 

Training in Basic and Advance Life Support will be an added advantage.
 

Laboratory Manager
 

Key Tasks;

• Managing and organizing all technical, operational and administrative activities of the Laboratory to ensure accurate diagnosis for treatment of patients.
• Defining, monitoring and facilitating the implementation of high standards of quality.
• Preparing and managing Laboratory budget and operational plans.
• Providing adequate linkages with the Consulting Doctors and Pathologist
• Train, supervise and evaluate performance of laboratory staff, develop work performance standards and provide technical expertise as required.
• Co-ordinate internal and external quality assurance program and ensure compliance of safety procedures from all staff within laboratory department.

Requirements:

• Bsc in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution.
• Post graduate training in Laboratory Medicine and/or Social Sciences an added advantage.
• Evidence of continuing medical education in sub-specialties of Laboratory Medicine.
• Vast knowledge of quality assurance procedures applicable to Laboratory.
• Registered and licensed with Kenya Medical Laboratory Technician and Technologists Board.
• Membership of the respective professional society/societies.
• 7 years progressive working experience in Laboratory Management in a busy hospital.
• Proven leadership skills.

Medical Laboratory Technologist
 

Requirements:

• Diploma in Medical Laboratory from a board recognized institution.
• Registered member of the Medical Laboratory Technician and Technologists Board (KLTTB).
• Have a minimum of 3 years post qualification practical experience in a busy hospital set up.
• Computer literate.
• Willing to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to take up the job immediately.

Medical Records Technologist
 

Minimum requirements for this position are Diploma in Medical Records and Information Technology from a recognized institution with at least two years experience in a similar position. 

Knowledge of HMIS is essential.
 

Theatre Technician / Surgeon Assistant
 

Applicants should possess the following;

• Diploma in Theatre Technology.
• Be able to assist Surgeons in all surgeries with advanced knowledge in modern technology in surgery.
• Well versed with human anatomy and physiology.
• Have knowledge and skills in aseptic technique and infection control.
• At least 4 years experience as a Theatre Technician/Surgeon Assistant in a busy operating theatre.
