Vacancy: Public Health Specialist

International Business & Technical Consultants, Inc. (IBTCI), a U.S. based international development consulting company established in 1987, has worked in over 100 countries and has implemented over one hundred and fifty projects. 

IBTCI has served governments, private sector companies and several donor agencies in the practice area of Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) across many sectors including education, health, economic growth and democracy & governance.
 
IBTCI is recruiting for a USAID five year project focused on Evaluation Services and Program Support for Health Programs in East Africa. 

This project supports USAID/Kenya’s Office of Population and Health (OPH) and USAID/East Africa’s Regional Health and HIV/AIDS Office (RHH) with program-related services, such as program monitoring and evaluation, data quality assessments, logistics for events, meeting facilitation and other support needs. 

The project is based in Nairobi with anticipated work throughout the East Africa region.
 
The Public Health Specialist, reporting to the Sr. M&E Advisor, will provide oversight, input consultation on evaluation tools, program design and strategic planning on a wide range of health topics, including FP/RH, MNCH, HIV/AIDS, malaria, nutrition and health systems strengthening. 

S/He will provide quality assurance on technical presentation of findings, presentations and recommendations coming out of assessments and evaluations by the consultants.
 
The Public Health Specialist must have:
  • At least ten (10) years of professional Public Health experience in Kenya working in USAID funded programs;
  • In-depth knowledge of Kenya Health System;
  • MPH required, Ph.D. preferred;
  • Proven proficiency in their technical areas and demonstrated possession of health program assessment skills and experience;
  • Professional use of MS Office applications, writing and communication skills;
  • Excellent spoken and written English;
  • A working knowledge of health issues affecting Kenyan, Eastern and/or sub-Saharan African populations and understanding of the impediments to health within the African context.
