Our client, the Nairobi Securities Exchange Limited (NSE) plays an important role in the Kenyan economy. It provides a platform for raising capital for businesses and government, mobilizing savings for investment and improving corporate governance by providing a world class trading facility. 

NSE’s vision is to be a leading securities exchange in Africa with a global reach. On her 60th Anniversary, NSE has recently been demutualised and selflisted entering a completely new horizon. 

NSE is seeking to recruit a high calibre, results oriented, experienced and highly skilled professional for the position of Chief Executive Officer who will be able to manage the change from a mutual exchange to a publicly listed entity. 

The CEO will serve in a four (4) year contact renewable once.

The Role

Reporting to the NSE Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for making NSE a world class trading facility for the benefit of all stakeholders through providing an open, effective and transparent avenue for price discovery, wealth creation and management. 

S/he will have the overall responsibility for ensuring the realisation of the NSE’s strategy through effective leadership, strategic visioning, establishment and implementation of proper systems and resources management.

The Person

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field and at least ten (10) years’ relevant experience, five (5) of which should be in a senior management role within the financial services sector. 

The role holder should have demonstrable experience in driving strategic initiatives for business growth, building strong transformative relationships and institutional capacity building.
